Santa Cruz Airporter

BAD BAD BAD! We used the ""old"" SC Airporter often and loved it. When Mr. Brice's ""Surf City""service was just starting, the first time we used them was fine. However, we have had only bad experiences each and EVERY time since. We would get the actual Surf City Shuttle vehicle FROM Santa Cruz BUT all 4X from SJC Airport we were shuffled-off (NOT SHUTTLED) on a gypsy cab to Santa Cruz. Their procedure is to call a cell phone # from SJCupon arrival after you pick up your luggage. They then give you instructions for your ride home. Each time we ended up being told they had no shuttle available (even though we had a reservation) and we were directed to the cab area only to end up in an old old old taxi cab, the driver had his radio on full blast on a foreign music station and was on a personal phone call the whole time. I did not feel safe and didn't appreciate the lack of professionalism and inconvenience. Once, is remotely excuseable, but it's not what we paid for. I called the number for the Santa cruz Airporter and was fooled into thinking I was getting a ride with the old Santa Cruz Airporter which I have now found out is out of business. The company that picked me up was Surf City Shuttle. They were rediculously priced. The owner quoted me one price and then tacked on an additional $15 in fees.. B.S.! I later found out that the company that picked me up 20 minutes late was not even the company I thought I made a reservation with. Just so you all know. The real Santa Cruz Airporter is out of business. The only company around that is comparable in price is the Santa Cruz Airport Flyer. At least they were reliable and honest about who they are. Thanks to the good people who live and visit there, we are the largest Airport Shuttle in Santa Cruz! Go Surf City! With almost five (5) thousand passengers in four years, we try harder to go the extra mile (pardon the pun). Please give us a try and you'll see, we are the greenest, safest way to get to the airport and back. As of December 7, 2007 Santa Cruz Airporter went out of business. The phone number listed here (423-1214) is for the Surf City Airport Shuttle that charges ridiculously high prices for rides to the airports. Between Santa Cruz and SJC, I was put on three (!) different shuttles. On another occasion, between SFO and Santa Cruz, I was taken through the residential streets of San Jose, so driver's female partner could find a restroom (around midnight)! Impossible to contact by phone. I cancelled a reservation I had with SC Airporter more than 2 weeks in advance of the planned service (for which they'd already billed my credit card) and never received a refund. I have not been able to contact them by phone since cancelling my reservation -- perhaps they've gone under? more
