Sandwich Animal Hospital

I hopped around trying to find the best groomer on the cape that I could find for my 2 cocker spaniels Ziggy & Marley.After trying 3 or 4 places, I was thrilled to find that the Sandwich Animal Grooming shop on Rte 6A next to the animal hospital.They are very thorough with the shampoo,cut and trim and they come home dressed up with a bandana.At Christmas time, they give all the dog's a goodie bag from Santa.I would highly recommend these groomers to any dog owner.I hope they are there for a very long time to come!....Congrats and keep the great work up! more

After becoming disillusioned with our local vet due to indifferent service and high fees, I took my two dogs to the Sandwich Veterinary Hospital after it was recommended to me by a friend. I was immediately impressed by the positive and caring atmosphere I felt upon entering the reception area and speaking with the receptionist. Dr. Harmon was careful in explaining my dog's condition, treatment and recovery. I think that pet owners like me want to know and understand what's wrong with our pets and be part of the caregiving team. Dr. Harmon did not disappoint me in this area like many past vets I've known have. I've also gotten great service from the hospital's other two vets and am assured that my dogs will get the care they need from Sandwich Animal Hospital.\r \r What's more, the fees for services there are more in line with what I feel they should be and I don't get mailings from them urging me to try expensive new medications or treatments that are most often not needed and possibly not in my dogs' best interests.\r \r Although it is a 35 minute drive to East Sandwich from my home in North Falmouth, I am more then happy to take the time and spend the gas money to get this quality of veterinary care! I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE GIVEN TO ME. I CALLED AFTER MIDNIGHT TO BRING MY SON'S DOG IN AS HE HAD GOTTEN A VERY LARGE GASH ON HIS HIND LEG, THE LOCAL VET THAT I USUALLY GO TO WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND i WAS REFERRED ELSWHERE. I WAS SHOCKED AT WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE BUZZARDS BAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND WOULD NEVER GO THERE. THEY TOLD ME BEFORE I EVEN TOOK THE DOG IN THEY WOULD BE CHARGING ABOUT $1500! OUTRAGEOUS.\r I THEN CONTACTED THE SANDWICH ANIMAL HOSPITAL TWO TOWNS OVER AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE CONVERSATION AND COMPASSION. I BROUGHT THE DOG RIGHT IN. HE NEEDED SURGERY TO SUTURE HIM UP SO HE SPENT THE NIGHT. WHEN ALL WAS SAID AND DONE, AFTER A ANESTHESIA, A COUPLE OF SHOTS, MEDICINE FOR FLEAS, MEDICINE FOR PAIN AND ANTIBOTICS , A LAMPSHADE COLLAR, THEY EVEN CLIPPED HIS NAILS.RETURN FOR SUTURE REMOVAL THE TOTAL CHARGE WAS $457.24! THIS WAS A GREAT RELIEF AS MY SON JUST GRADUATED FROM SCHOOL AND HAS NUMEROUS SCHOOL LOANS TO PAY. HE JUST GOT A FULL TIME JOB AND IS STARTING OUT ON HIS OWN. I WAS TAKING CARE OF THE DOG FOR HIM. MY SON BARELY HAS ENOUGH TO FEED HIMSELF. THEY WERE WONDERFUL IN ACCEPTING PAYMENTS. I HAVE DECIDED THAT I WILL BE CHANGING VETS AND BRINGING MY TWO CATS AND MY SON'S DOG BACK TO KATTI STRAHSMEIER THE WONDERFUL VET AT SANDWICH ANIMAL INN. IN FACT I AM CALLING THEM TODAY AND MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE ALL OF THEM GROOMED THIS WEEKEND.\r IT IS NICE TO KNOW THAT COMPASION AND UNDERSTANDING COME BEFORE THE MONEY. I called the Sandwich Animal Hospital when my pregnant guinea pig got sick. They told me that there was nothing I could do for her except give her sugar water. They don't treat guinea pigs and refused to see her. If I had not found another animal doctor to see her both her and her babies would have died. They could not even give me another animal doctor to call. PROS: Treat cats and dogs CONS: Do not treat guinea pigs, could not give referal, could not tell me waht to more
