Looking for a romantic place with excellent food but not too fussy? Look no more. Sandrine's, located on a side street right in Harvard Square, is like an oasis from the world. Food is French inspired with some American additions. On a recent lunch visit, I had some chilled cucumber vichysoisse which was cool and delicious. My partner had a lobster bisque which tasted of a rich, long-cooked stock in addition to the lobster.
Prices arereasonable at lunch time... without alcohol, one could easily eat for less than $15. At dinner, the prices go up considerably but are worth it for the beautifully prepared entrees. There are modern touches without trendiness. The services is excellent - prompt but not obtrusive.
Excellent wine list and really good desserts complete the experience. Try Sandrine's for a touch of Europe right here in Boston.
