Fantastic 6/28/2011

I just bought my first computer from Sandia, and the service I received was fantastic. more

Great experience 6/23/2011

They took the time to answer all of my questions, and even copied over my old files from my dead Dell computer at no charge. My boss is taking all of our companies computers to them for service, and we're even getting 6 new machines from them due to the great experience I had. more

Care about their customers 6/21/2011

It is hard to find a business that cares about it's customer. I think Stuart cares about the people that walk in Sandia Computers. He will take the extra step to make sure you are treated like he treats himself. That is something that is few and far between. more

Stay away 6/14/2011

BIG MISTAKE taking my desktop to these con artists. First I took my computer into them because I disabled/deleted the "administrator account" and my data disappeared. Then I ran it by our Information Technology people at work and was told that I was scammed. These guys first tried to tell me that my computer was viral infected and then immediately tried to sell me THEIR antiviral version "PANDA" which was better than Norton apparently. When I didn't buy it, I got a rude, cold shoulder. They did little to help my computer for $400. Never again! more

Stay Away 6/13/2011

Big ripoff. I should've run my computer problem by my work's IT department first, but instead I took it into Sandia Computers and got ripped off ($400). All they needed to do was a system restore; instead they tried to tell me that my computer was infected with multiple viruses and malware, and that I needed to purchase THEIR antiviral software (PANDA) . When I declined the purchase, I got rude and cold shoulders, not to mention a big bill and a computer that needed everything to be reinstalled again...by me. Very dissatisfied. more

My friends made the mistake and went to Best Buy for their computers, nothing but problems, calls to India non-stop. I told them about Sandia, they took their computers into their service dept. and they are now happy happy. Thanks guys more

This is a great place to get local service. I have one of their custom Vista systems and have not had any problems. more

Shop local, yes, but just not with these guys. 4/20/2011

Sandia Computers is right on the edge of Albuquerque's ""Great White Heights"" area which strikes me as rather fitting since the vibe of their retail operation seems geared to pander specifically towards that neighborhood's archetype, i.e. - Bottle-blonde soccer moms who hide inside the walls of Tanoan all day listening to KKOB and still have AOL email accounts, lots of disposable income, and little-to-no technical competency. It must be a brisk business, though, since Sandia has been there since around 1997 or 1998. For end-users who actually know a thing or two about PC's, you can find what you need elsewhere in town, both cheaper and with far less condescension and hard-sell techniques. Based on experiences I've had with the store, Sandia's owner, Stu, doesn't strike me as someone who seems to inclined to follow through on promises or commitments if for one reason or another it's no longer convenient or practical. Back in the 90s before Sandia opened up, Stu ran a pawn shop downtown on Central. Keep that in mind: Sandia Computers is run by a man who's still a pawn broker at heart, with all the ruthlessness that this implies. more

three strikes and you're out 3/11/2010

I went there because of their handholding mom and pop advertising. Three times I was given an appointment for tutoring, and three times was stood up with no call or e-mail. Next I had a service problem, andcalled the service desk who first told me not to worry about it, put me on hold and came back saying I probably had a virus and should bring it in for service. After calling my wireless company they walked me thru a few simple steps to remove an old user name that was left behind and causing the disturbing message that there were other users on there. Finally I left messages for the owner who was always with a client to call me back and again nothing. When I finally tutored myself enough to scrub the files, there were training classes and apple applications and a whole lot of memory taken up since may of last year. I bought it in February of this year. I think it was used. I have a three strikes and you're out policy, and was let down by sales, service, and management. The worst part is, they knew I was a first time buyer and I feel like a stupid widow who can't take care of herself or her money and believes everything people tell me. I feel stupid. Cons: no service after the sale more

WHAT A CON!!!! 2/10/2010

THEY TELL YOU THEY CAN MAKE ANYTHING YOU WANT AS FAR AS A LAPTOP. HAHAHAHA THEY ORDER THEM FROM A COMPANY CALLED CLEVO. THEY COME ALREADY MADE. PEOPLE DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! DONT ASK THEM FOR HELP CUZ THEY WILL JUST ROPE YOU IN AND HIT YOU WITH THEIR BREATH. IF YOU HAVE TO GO IN THERE TAKE A TOOTH BRUSH MAYBE STUART WILL GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT. THIS PLACE IS A CON'S HOUSE Pros: AN EXIT Cons: STU AND HIS BREATH more

Worst service evar. 1/1/2010

I cannot believe a place like is eve still in business. I had to pay a deposit on my computer ($85) and that is just to find out what is wrong with it. After that I was told TWO WEEKS LATER after I called them numerous times that my computer was so old that I should just buy another one, from them of course, so I agreed to some system for around $700 even though my computer was a little slow but still did just what I needed. Later after looking at some adds, I found I was getting crap for my $700 I found computers all over the place for $400 to $500 with better specs, better processor, double the memory and hard drive. Then when I went to pick up my ""new"" computer I witnessed the ""Owner"" Stu shouting almost the whole time at some employees and then he came over and with a blast of bad breath he pitched a sale of overpriced junk, you the kind of stuff that doesn't even have a brand name, worse than a used car salesman. I refused to buy the computer at that point and he charged a 15% re-stocking fee!!! Pros: I tried but could not think of any Cons: High prices, lousy service, lies lies lies more

NOT A JIP! 11/3/2009

I dont know what happened with the last reviewer-I have only had good experiences with Sandia Computers. As for laptop selection-they custom make anything you want-great quality and helpful service.\r \r As for Atma: sounds like a disgruntled employee to me. more
