Do yourself a favor and run the hell away form these people. They are scam artists, San Marin Apartments = biggest scam in the world. I lived there for over 48 months, and refused to sign another lease. There is ABSOLUTELY no upside to living in this complex. The management is inept and rude; the parking is unbearable and they tow you every single chance they get; and they end up way overcharging you. I had a similar experience to the guy below me but on top of that the management decided to not give back my deposit and charge me even more money. I lived there for 4+ years, and was overpaying every single month. They overcharge you by adding $75 if you are late a day for rent, which is downright illegal because they can't give you the amount of the rent due to the fluctuations in the water and utility bill. So every single month you have to go to the office and ask how much you owe for rent. Furthermore, if you are more than a day late its another $5 a day, and god forbid your each the 4 day late period because they then make you get a CASHIERS check for the amount. Yeah, taking my money for 4 years straight for this slummy rat hole that would not pass for an apartment and my check is going to bounce; even though none of the other ones did? And if you complain to management they wont do anything, ask for their corporate address and they refuse to give it to you. Just downright awful, move to the place next door the Palladium, they are a better complex and will treat you like a human being, while San Marin Apartments treats you like scum. Also, when I got my move out papers these idiots decided to charge me for a ""carpet cleaning fee""? Well two things wrong with that, thats what I was charged when I moved in they told me it was a carpet cleaning fee then changed it to be ""administration fees"" in their paperwork. Can someone say fraud? And even worse is that Scottsdale has a mandate of an apartment complex having to change the carpets every 2 years, guess what they didnt change it ONCE in my apartment, I had to pay myself to have the carpets cleaned about 2-3 times. Also, they are trying to charge me for ""excessive nails"" in the wall, newsflash I had 4 paintings hanging total, how is that excessive? And how in the world would it cost you $50.00 to take out some nails? It gets even beter, they are trying to charge me for ""bulbs and fixtures"" um again that is not my perogative nor my responsibility that is the management's responsibility, I do not own the property nor am I going to be paying $20.00 to replace 3 lightbulbs, that is just downright criminal. Also, supposedly they had to carry out ""trash"" and they are charging $150.00, I mean it just continues to get more and more ludicrous as the bills come. And the apartment complex was just awful, nothing worked, it was all old, the location was OK and you can get a way better deal at the place next door, plus they don't try to scam their clients for every extra penny, and they dont try to tow your car away at every second to make a few extra bucks in kickbacks from SWAT towing (who was investigated and arrested for all sorts of criminal activities). DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM SAN MARIN APARTMENTS AS POSSIBLE!!!
