Whenever I see Dr. Hurt's hygienist, I tell her to do as deep of a cleaning as she can, and not to worry about hurting me. Fortunately, she cleans real deep and it doesn't hurt. She taught me to use a proxybrush to clean between my teeth, and a rubber tip to clean the pockets between my gums and teeth. For a long time I wouldn't use them because my gums were in bad shape around my crowns, so it hurt. But everyone there kept persuading me and I eventually gave in. My gums gradually got healthier, and the tools hurt less and less. Now I use them 3 times a day after brushing and flossing, and it actually feels good.\r
