Welcome Aboard! 8/21/2005

The Battleship Texas was the Flagship of the Texas Navy before it was anchored permanently on the Houston Ship channel. It is a great place to take the family, the kids can explore all the fantastic nooks and cranny of this Famous BattleShip while you listen to the tour that run through the ship. And if your lucky one of you might catch a glimps of the ghost that haunts the ship. Don't forget the gift shop and while your there walk around and look at the gravestones and markers of the fallen soldiers of the Texas revolution. It is a fascinating place. more

The birth of Texas Independance 8/21/2005

The San Jacinto Battlegrounds state park is located on the exact spot where Texian bravely fought for Texas independence. A large monument marks the spot on the 1,200 acre site. You can take a elevator up to the top look out tower and see the Houston Ship Chanel, Battle Ship Texas, and the Fred Hartman bridge. There is also a pretty neat gift shop, museum and a theater that shows movies about this historical site. Admission is a few bucks and worth the time. more
