BUYER BEWARE! 2/26/2011

Our experience with San DIego Home Improvement has been a nightmare. In August 2010 we signed up for a whole house window replacement (30+ windows). There were numerous issues but the overarching frustration is very poor customer service. more

Mr. Lougiakis may or may not be the owner this entire company along with the other companies Gerasimos was associated with where shut down by the CSLB. If you decide to go with this company PLEASE check with the Contractors State License Board and the BBB. They have changed names and inter twine the owners as to make you think they are a new company. NOT TRUE. more

Simply the absolute BEST IN TOWN 2/2/2011

They actually answer the phone, schedule a visit, and show up on time. Wow. Then, they give an immediate estimate at an excellent price. Double wow. And finally, they complete the work in a professional and efficient manner. If only all household improvements were so easy. more

A JOB WELL DONE.. 2/2/2011

I have never been happier with a contractor. I got three quotes from different installers for 11 Low-E windows. San Diego Home Improvements was the cheapest by a fair amount, so I was a little concerned it might be a bait-and-switch or a crappy product or other tactic. But the estimator was very organized on the the in-home consultation. He showed his license, references, the warranties, and other important information. He was not a pushy salesperson. He even recommended I go with a less expensive window for our living room and turned out making a great recommendation. We have a 1950's ranch home and many of the windows were original single pane glass. Our house is so much warmer after the new windows. One of the panes of the 11 windows was broken during shipping (not his fault), but he promptly returned with a replacement. I absolutely can recommend San Diego Home Improvements without hesitation. I wish all contractors were this honest, dependable, and easy to work with more

From the first phone call, the staff at San Diego Home Improvements were wonderful. Our appointment for an estimate was scheduled promptly, and amazingly he showed up on time... we have had two other companies we tried to get bids from, one didn't show up, the second was an hour late. So after receiving a very reasonable quote, we scheduled our installation for a week later. more

BEST WINDOW COMPANY IN SAN DIEGO BY FAR 2/2/2011

We can not say enough good things about this company!! We had 11 windows replaced, 1 sliding glass door and 1 french door removed and replaced with a BEAUTIFUL picture window. Frank and his crew were fantastic! They did all the work in two long days. The quote we received was way below all the others we received for the exact same windows by the exact same manufacturer (Simenton). The estimator gave us advice and options we hadn't considered and everything worked out wonderful!! We love our windows. The sound deadening ones in our bedroom really work!! Fast, Excellent work! 10/8/2008

I called for a quote, they were able to come out the next day and the work was done days later. We had approximately a 3'x4' area that had water damage from a cracked gutter. They were very honest - I was not home when work was done - they called and said damage was not as bad as first thought and price would be lower. I was very happy with the job - no mess was left. Would defintely recommend to others! more

Great for Seniors 10/8/2008

My husband and I have gotten up in the years and called San Diego Home Improvements to fix our roof. Not only did they fix our roof but they also painted our house and repaired our gutters. I am always worried about pricing since we are on a fixed budget but this company listened to our needs and worked with us. Thank you San Diego Home Improvements. more

Over the years I have owned a number of houses and hired a host of contractors but without question, my experience with San Diego Home Improvements has been one of the most positive dealings I have had...from replacing my siding to putting a new roof on the house or to painting the house...they have always been very professional, very reasonable and the owner, Mr Lougiakis, has always shown to take particular pride in making sure that the customer is happy. This company completed the repairs I needed in 24 hrs...YES...24hrs...QUALITY WORK AT A REASONABLE PRICE...can't go wrong... more

Simply Amazing Roofing Experience 9/19/2008

Superior Quality, Excellent Job done, fast, & courteous. Had New Roof put on, WOW I couldn't believe it was done in 1 day!!! I was and am amazed in their quality and efficiency. Very thorough in that I needed new facia board and first boards in and around the roof perimeter, the cost involved was explained very throughly beforehand and added to the cost, but it got done very promptly, and efficiently, GREAT JOB! I will definitely be calling back if I have any other jobs on the house that they can do. Thanks SDHI, and a special shout out to Bob Pierce, nice quy and knows his stuff, thanks also to Neil who stepped up and made sure the job got done to specs, Thanks to all, and the crew, can't say enough about how quickly they get the job done. Extremely Professional Company 9/16/2008

A co-worker (and a friend of one of the owners) recommended San Diego Home Improvements to paint the interior of my home. I've been in the home for 6 years and still had builders paint on walls and some minor cracks. Al Metzke came to my home did a thorough assessment and give me an estimate. The company has different crews, I chose the crew that could also work on a Saturday. Their work was outstanding!!!! My 6yr old house looks brand new!!! All work was done professionally with tremendous attention to detail! They meticulously patched up all minor cracks, sanded and painted. The crew was prompt, friendly, and took great care in the clean up process when the work was completed. The crew worked so efficiently, they finished the project a day ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend San Diego Home Improvements!!!!!!!!! more

Great Paint Contractor Experience 9/16/2008

San Diego Home Improvements recently painted the exterior of our 100 year old home in National City. They took care to be sure they consulted experts re: issues with some problem areas of our home and consequently their quote/estimated cost was extremely detailed and clear. They were reliably ""on-time"" each day as well as with the completed project. The crew that did the actual painting was quiet, polite, and professional. Neal came by each day to check with me and his crew. No complaints from anyone when I changed my mind about a color or two. We have no doubt this company stands behind their work and may be more ""particular"" than most homeowners about wanting every little detail done perfectly! We have a great deal of experience with contractors and this experience w/ San Diego Home Improvements was the best by far. more

Hi, I'm Jenny. My husband, and I had San Diego Home Improvements out to apply the Tex-Cote product. The crew was fantastic. They did an excellent job on our family home and attended to all the details with care. They did above what we expected from them and in a timely manner. They also installed beautiful vinyl retrofit windows in our house and they are just phenomenal. I am just thrilled, and all of or neighbors are asking us what company did our house because they also want the same excellent quality. We feel we were treated like we were royalty. I loved the whole experience from signing up, pricing (and we studied up on a lot of local companies), to finish. San Diego Home Improvements came through with all we hoped for and more and made us some very happy people. We highly recommend the company. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD 9/4/2008

I would like to warn all homeowners from this company, they are a fraud. They were formly called Mission Builders and they continue to operate with a different name SDHI, they have gone bankrupt and the owners and workers are all very rude and unprofessional. I had to deal with these people in court and won my case. These people show themselves as professional and honest which is totally untrue. Please do not use this company they will eventually get suied for stealing from innocent people especially elder people they take advantage of. more
