To the Riboli family, News of your winery has graced my ears to the point of warming my now love filled heart. It is only moments before my palates will taste your magnificient selections of the finest grapes ever prepared into wine. I long and live for this moment in time. Pros: From the Families Hand Cons: What Are Those more

Really cool!! 5/11/2010

I have to say that this is a great place to take out of town guests. Since my wife and I have moved to L.A. we have had an influx of guests, and I cannot do Gromins one more time!!! I found a great alternative in San Antonio Winery - it was a fun experience :) Pros: Winery close to home Cons: none to speak of more

Great date place 5/5/2010

Had dinner here a week ago and the food was delicious, the service was very friendly, and I was able to bring some wine home to enjoy later. Will go back again. Pros: wide variety Cons: none! more

Your local winery, downtown LA? 12/23/2009

You feel the instant 'family' vibe at the San Antonio Winery. It's close to the Brewery in Lincoln Heights, just minutes from downtown central. You have to check it out! Pros: Closer than Los Olivos more

For Peopel who like the whole wine thing! 2/19/2009

My girlfriend and I visited San Antonio Winery on valentine's day, 2009, for the first time. I am not a wine expert but find the idea extremely interesting. We got to take a tour of the whole place and found it exciting and educational. Pros: For valentine's day their wine tasting selection was limited :( Cons: Great wine selection, Educational Tour more

Disappointed and confused. 11/15/2007

We recently gathered here for a family event. It wasn't a specially organized event or anything...just us getting together for brunch on the weekend. I have to say I was sorely disappointed and left our meal a little confused. The quality of food was generally average. The service was slow and confused me. Is this a restaurant or a cafeteria? It reminded me of a terrible version of Las Vegas buffets. You pay...get your food...and slide your tray down the line. Servers behind the line give you what you order...except for the entree which is delivered to your table. Just a weird experience all around. I don't think we'll be visiting this place again. However, I can see how it would be a great place for lunch if you worked downtown. more

Cafeteria Food 10/9/2007

I can't believe how horrible the food was. I felt like I was in a high school cafeteria. The old ladies serving the food even had hair nets! Don't eat here! My lunch was $16.50. I could of eaten at Olive Garden and ordered the Tour of Italy for the same price! They also charged for drink refils. The food tastes like a frozen dinner. Wear your bullet proof vests in this neighborhood. more

Our Event was Perfect 4/24/2007

Our family had a very important event at the San Antonio Winery recently. I was a bit nervous as I was in charge of making sure my parents anniversary gathering was a success. Wow!! The service was impeccable, the food authentic Italian in style and the flavors in their sauces were amazing. Apparently the chef takes much pride in his dishes and we felt as if we were the only event they had to worry about this year. The award winning wines were paired with the food they served and we loved every second of this experience and so did my parents. Everything was served timely and they even helped us set up a screen for a presentation. This family owned winery gives tours, has a gift shop and you can taste wine from all over the world, not only the wines that they produce. Why would anyone ever need to go to Napa? Pros: Ten minutes from Pasadena and the parking is really easy since they built the new parking lot. Cons: Wish they were open later for dinner more

Napa Valley in Los Angeles 3/21/2007

I absolutely love this place. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. I've taken the tour and was very impressed with the history and the tradition of the winery. The gift shop offers a wide variety of wines to choose from. I enjoy taking some time to taste the different wines. Each time I visit I always try something new. If you enjoy wine tasting in Napa Valley you will love the convenience of being able to sample wines so close to home. I highly recommend San Antonio Winery to anyone who loves great food, wine and service! more

Breath Taking Experience! 2/19/2007

San Antonio Winery = Amazing FOOD, WINE, and AMBIANCE. A friend told me about the winery a few months ago, and I?ve have been going regularly since. :) The first time I visited the winery I was overwhelmed by the verity of things one can do. Beside being a full functioning winery ( FREE TOURS!), the winery also had a free tasting room, and a great restaurant. The restaurant was by far the most memorable part of my winery experience. The food was delicious! The Shrimp Scampi is a MUST! The great thing about the restaurant was the professional and prompt service, I didn?t even need to make a reservation ahead of time; which we all know is almost unheard of in LA! Thank YOU SAN ANTONIO WINERY YOU GUYS ROCK! Pros: For the quality and amount of food you get the price is unbeatable! Cons: Parking can sometimes be a pain more

Avoid for Parties 1/2/2007

We celebrated my sister's 40th birthday here on 12/30/06. Never again will my family have a party here. In Nov 06 my family was contacted to say the time had to be changed and our food options were no longer available because USC was coming in and taking over the entire winery. Our invitations had already been printed. We had to hand write in the change in time on the invites. When my mother arrived at the party. The manager told her first thing we had to be out on time. Not even a welcome or sorry for the inconvenience they caused. Our wine, cheese and ice tea was set up when we got there. Here is where things went wrong. We were told to stand in line to get our food (which we were not given a choice). As my family made their way. I was given a sign indicating what choice of food I made and was told someone would serve me. I was confused because the rest of my family was being served right then and there. I did not argue and went back to my seat. The waiter saw my sign and said he would serve me. It took a very long time to get my item and my family was confused as to what to do. Some stood in line and had their food others had signs. We were eventually served. The food was very good. I'll give them that. We were also told the cake needed to be cut by a certain time to insure were were out by a certain time. When it came time to cut the cake we were told they would cut it. No such thing happened. We ended up cutting our own cake and then were not enough cake plates. I asked for additional cake plates and was given not china but styrofoam black plates. How elegant for a party at the winery. Then where was the coffee. We had to ask for that too. None of the waiters seem to understand what we needed. I feel like because USC was coming and they were paying big buck, we were pushed out and inconvenienced. The manager only gave us $100 off. I think it should have been more given the circumstances. I do not recomend this place for a party. Pros: the food was very good Cons: the service was terrible more

Well Kept Secret 9/19/2006

Even I had no idea that Los Angeles had a winery. So when I was invited here for a Sunday brunch, I was so excited. The atmosphere is open but cozy. The food was delicious. They have many menu selections on display. This way you know exactly what kind of portions you'll get and just how good it looks, before you order. For some, this could be a spoiler. Because there is nothing like the element of surprise. Excellent wine. Live jazz as well. A great place! more
