We happened upon Sam the Clam's restaurant on a recent trip from Massachusetts to our home in New Jersey. It was a great ""find""-- a bustling bar and restaurant, its parking lot full on a Sunday evening, the bar band playing away, and a wonderful back deck filled with tables, and, yes, another bar, Polynesian roof and all. Clientele seemed to be a happy and loud mix of families, bikers, and assorted others, all happily munching their way through a variety of (mostly) fried seafood platters, including the best fried shrimp I've ever had. Good cole slaw, and excellant lobster bisque as well. Moderate prices round out the experience.
Pros: Superb fried seafood and soups, great atmosphere and bars
Cons: Not much other than fried dishes.
