New Location: Much Better 2/21/2011

Unfortunately Liarose visited Salvi's during the transition to their new location at 5000 Upper Metro Place in Dublin. My major complaint was that the old location was run down and the carpet was disgusting. As a result, my wife and I only ordered carry out for the last few months of 2010. The new location is excellent and a vast improvement over the Hilliard location. The food is excellent and well presented and the facility is clean and sophisticated. We are much relieved and visit quite regularly. more

Will not be going back... 12/13/2010

This was not my first time to Salvi's, but it was definitely my last. Consistently slow and poor service and this time was no different. Our food was awful and cold, 2 of our plates were sent back to the kitchen. My husband ordered the chicken parm. and it came out with cold shredded cheese on top of the chicken. He asked if they could melt the cheese and the waiter said "they will put it back under the heat lamp for a little while for you." Seriously? You'll stick his plate under a heat lamp until the cheese melts? Ew. My father-in-law ordered lasagna and he had to send it back because it was still freezing cold in the middle. The meatballs were disgusting. I had the margherita pizza which is usually made with slices of real mozzerella and tomatoes, however, Salvi's dumped a whole thing of some kind of weird cheese on the pizza and I had to keep cutting the pizza so I didnt' gag on the cheese! A frozen pizza would have been better and done well. Our waiter never refilled our drinks and we were there for TWO hours with a 6-month old. Our waiter said "I have 3 tables, I'm doing the best I can"... he only had us and one other table because his 3rd table was empty. It was crazy! He brought us a moldy lemon for my FIL's drink and then when they cleaned the table next to ours they sprayed so much of the cleaning chemicals that we had to hold our breath and I had to try to move to get my 6-month old out of the mist so she could breathe. It was a nightmare. The only good thing about it was that the place looked nice and the manager paid our bill for us. more

Best Italian in Columbus in my opinion. 1/13/2008

For some reason, everyone around here flocks to Buca di Beppo when they want good Italian food, and I'm pretty sure that's just because they don't know that this gem on the outskirts of Columbus exists. Buca's food is horrible in my opinion, but that's a different story. The trademark dish, Pasta Salvi is absolutely delicious, and the Chicken Marsala is by far the best on the menu, and that I've ever had. Like some of the others have said, don't let it's location fool you. It's tucked in behind some hotels just off I-70 West on the Hilliard exit. Anyone who hasn't tried it should. The servers are fast and friendly and the overall atmosphere is very classy yet casual. The restaurant owner, Chef Salvi still prepares dishes on a regular occasion as well. The Sunday Brunch is a sight to behold. Pros: Pasta Salvi, Chicken Marsala Cons: it more

Best Avoided 12/19/2007

Pasta Salvi is the only thing going for this restaurant. Have eaten there regularly and something has gone wrong in the last two months. Service is erratic and the kitchen seems challenged. A Board of Health notice on the door didn't inspire confidence. more

Pasta Salvi is the best 7/12/2006

Great Service, very nice atmosphere, very prompt service, I went there with my family a number of years ago when they were located on the east side of columbus, they are now located in Hilliard ohio ,we now live 30 miles southwest of columbus so it is about a 60 mile roundtrip drive for us,But if the food is good and cservice is great, you don't mind the drive. Highly Recomended more

Italian Surprise 7/11/2006

Had not been to a Salvi's for years and what a pleasant surprise. The food was plentiful and really well prepared. The tomato sauce is to die for. Service was fast. Prices are very competitive to others. Excellent value. Highly Recommend. Pros: Tomato sauce is exquiste, salad is fresh and plentiful, cream sauce is superb Cons: hard to find it more

BRAVO! Excellent food and service 4/18/2006

I can't say how much I love this place. I don't go as often as I would like to - gotta watch the figure(or because it's in Hilliard and I'm in Westerville). The Pasta Salvi is awesome. I always get their sampler platter that has stuffed, deep-fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, Pasta salvi, with awesome bread and topping with cheese/meat. I have been hearing about this place for quite some time but only recently finally tried it. And the service is extrememly prompt and courteous. Decor a little dull, but who cares....the food is why I go there. Highly recommend. reasonably priced. Pros: Delicious, flavorful , food, service Cons: far from where i live more

Best Italian with authentic family owned details 12/18/2005

This restaurant has it all! Exquisite food, comfortable ambiance, great service and good prices. There is wonderful family pride in this owner operated business that continues to bring customers back. My husband and I have dined here dozens of times and have never been dissatisfied. You must try their specialty dish, PastaSalvi. If anyone can figure out how to make this dish, let me know! I'd have it everyday of the week. They also make a wonderful Marsala and their Sunday brunch, while appearing pricey is well worth it once you see all they are offering. It is strangely located back off the highway, in with some hotels, but dont let that fool you. I guarentee it is one of the best Italian restaurants you will find in the area. Pros: Delicious Food, Great Service, Nice Atmosphere more

Salvi's is certainly one of the best Italian restaurants in town. The decor is classy and stylish, but is far from being snooty or pretentious. Seating is prompt but service can be a little iffy - our servers always seem to forget something (flatware, water, butter). The food is absolutely delicious, and the servings are very generous. Salvi's Sunday morning brunch is a little pricey, but the buffet is extensive, with a chef on-hand to cook omelets to order. Pros: Superb food, Parking/location, Sylish more
