Bargain Central!!! 7/21/2011

This was my first time shopping at the Salvation Army Grand Rapids. Approaching the store, I didn't think I was going to find anything, but after a few tracks up and down the isles it started happening. Before long my arms was full. I tried on everything and ended up buying more than I planned. On a trip to find a replacement jacket for a jacket I lost a year ago at The Salvation Army in Granger, I didn't find a suitable replacement for my jacket but I found a beautiful Finley top, valued at over $100, in like new condition. Great shopping experience, and only one down side was, I had so many cute tops that I somehow missed one of the tops I wanted to get and didn't notice it until I got home, but I got everything that I paid for. The down side, the fitting rooms had a lot of garments I had to personally remove myself. selection was just as good or better than most. The quality and selection of merchandise was better than most locations I've shopped at before. The store was huge, so I didn't get to look at everything, maybe even a little overwhelming, but great if you have the time. Excellent customer service from everyone that I spoke with and would do it again. We were in GR for other business but I would definitely make the 70 mile trek to shop there again. AAA+++++ more

Public Bathroom 1/10/2011

I have always enjoyed shopping at the Salvation army store near East Paris. However, today was the last time I will shop there, much less donate to the SA. I was in the store with my 4 year old granddaughter. She said she needed to use the bathroom, so we headed to the restroom where a sign was posted ""Not for public use"". Even though I could here someone in the restroom. I asked if they had a restroom she could use and I was told "" No, you will have to go to Flowerland"" Why should Flowerland have to take care of SA'a customers? I would suggest you change your policy back the way it was. I will also be contacting Flowerland to let them know the new policy. more
