Very Forgetable Fish, esentially a fast food resturant. Not worth the drive! Cons: Out of the way more

A very uniquely decorated fish house offers a few very interesting turn on it's dishes. It's famous fish is battered in a seasoning of Italian bread crumbs and parmesan. While this may not be for everyone, I thought it was excellent. They feature a different fish everyday. My preference is the tilapia which is seasoned with lemon-pepper. I have also had the grilled salmon which is drizzled with a sour-cream dill sauce. They offer up pumpernickel-rye bread and coleslaw with all meals. The sides are your norm except for the delicious potato cakes which seem to have a hint of ranch flavor. The only item I have not been particularly fond of were the crab cakes. My wife and I tried Sal's 'Famous Fried Fish' recently and found the breaded so over-seasoned that we couldn't taste the fish at all -- just oregano, parmesan cheese, etc. Fish and most other seafood are far too delicate in flavor to withstand Sal's heavy-handed spices. The service, bread and coleslaw were fine, but we would return. Pros: Good service Cons: Poor seafood breading more

My wife and I tried Sal's this Saturday and it had to be the worst restaurant in alpharetta. I had the fish shrimp combo which tasted like frozen fish sticks. None of the food had any taste. The potato pancakes needed salt and a dipping sauce for taste. I think the family recipe needs to go to the bottom of the ocean. Beware of the chairs; They are cheap wood stools which are very uncomfortable. The help is so confused that it seems like they never worked in a restaurant before. They could not even give us the correct change. They had to ask another waiter to get change from his wallet. This place usually looks empty when you drive by so hopefully they will not be in buisness much longer. more

Neighborhod family restaurant, old family recipe for potatoes pancake that are too die for! Lite tasting fish dishes, good pasta and I really enjoy the lunch salad. Pros: taste, creative, light tasting more
