Salon Shahin

Just got my best haircut in years at Salon Shahin. My stylist, Lindsay, listened to all my concerns and executed my vision perfectly. The whole experience was relaxing and fun and even included a glass of red wine! I will definitely be back...and in the meantime, I'll be enjoying my haircut. Thanks, Salon Shahin! more

This is the first and only time I have been motivated to post a review online... and I plan to post as many bad reviews I can about this salon as I can. I went to Salon Shahin two years ago, and spent nearly 300 dollars for them to mess up my hair. I had a $70 hair cut where the stylist spend less than 5 minutes cutting my hair (I checked my watch). and they messed up the order of my hair color. When I mentioned my discontent to the salon manager, I was given nothing but attitude... However, 2 years later, I decided to give them a second chance, as I was given a free manicure coupon by a friend. (they had screwed up her appointment too and this is how she was compensated). So I went to the salon with this coupon that they give to people when they have bad experiences, presented it to the receptionist... and then was told by the manager that I would have to come back in 5 hours to redeem this coupon... What business manager would make a customer who they know has already had a bad experience wait 5 hours for a service that takes maximum 7 minutes??? Additionally, this was in the middle of the week on an weekday andand the salon was empty. If you like dealing with arrogant and entitled individuals, I highly recommend this salon Cons: customer service more

I received a gift certificate to the salon, but I live in Manhattan. Was it worth the trip? You bet it was! The haircut w/ Dawn rivaled any I've had at a noted salon here in Manhattan. The manicure/pedicure w/ Margaret was precise, relaxing & the results were beautiful. Will I take the trip again? Most definitely-YES! P.S. I'm looking forward to checking out the other services. The last review posted here made me quite upset. I am also young (22) and have always been treated wonderfully here. I have been a client of the salon since I was 17 years old. They are always so polite to me and keep me looking up to date with fun cuts and color. The pedicures are amazing (gotta love Elizabeth!!) and I have never felt an ounce of snooty-ness. Maybe some people need to check their own insecurities when they walk through the door! Just saying. Thank you Salon Shahin for being the best there is around. I have been here twice, and both times have felt out of place. I am young (23!), and felt like I was treated like a little girl with no money. I have spent way too much, on haircuts, spa services, nails, etc to be judged. My haircut was fine, the woman didn't really seem like she wanted to talk to me after her long day, and the girl who (after asking three times . Before my facial at the spa, I didn't even get a skin consult (Not cheap!), and my skin peeled for 2 weeks after. After my facial, I decided to cash in a free manicure that the salon gave me, and I thought they were going to throw a fit. If you don't want to actually give the manicure, then don't give me the coupon. The woman barely looked at me while she hurriedly did my nails - maybe 15 minutes tops. No thank you. If you are paying for good service, you deserve the best. Not some snotty middle-aged women who think they are too good for you. Won't be returning. more

I have been coming to Salon Shahine for haircuts and color for years. The staff is friendly, sensitive and do their best to accomodate me. I always leave feeling and looking better than when I came in. more

I was well overdue for a cut, and I've been hearing great reviews on Salon Shahin so I figured I'd give it a shot. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. The staff was awesome, VERY friendly, and made me feel extremely comfortable. As soon as I met my stylist, I explained what I wanted and how my bangs are really important to me ( I get very nervous when ppl cut my bangs). She did an exceptional job!! I could not be happier!! She kept my hair at the length that I wanted, but now it looks much healthier and my bangs look better than ever!! I get compliments all the time!! Will go back time and time again, I refuse to go anywhere else! Pros: clean, friendly, flawless service more

I have an important interview in a week, so I decided to get a hair cut. I've walked by this salon while strolling in downtown Stamford, it looked nice. Pros: Great services, nice decor and stylists are all very approachable Cons: Expensive, and no street parking. more

I highly recommend Tina for blonde hair. She is great for corrective and maintenance. She fixed my sisters hair, and kept my hair looking great time after time! Pros: great color Cons: not so good pedicures more
