Salon Pompeo

I was looking for a salon that would meet my needs, and I have just found it. I read alot of reviews, and decided to give Pompeo a try. Im glad I did. I made an appt. for an all-over color, and based on a lot of reviews, I asked for Keri. Keri did such a wonderful job! I wanted something dark for the fall, but not too dark that it would make me look pale and washed out against my tan skin complexion.(Im mixed, white and black). She gave me the perfect "fall" color. A med. dark brown with an auburn undertone, and it turned out amazing! I was skeptical at first, seeing as she said brown with a little red in it, but it brought out my skintone so well. Keri has a unique vision and really does know what shes doing. She made me feel really comfortable, and gave my hair the perfect haircolor for my skintone. I highly recommend her. Im going back in two weeks for her to cut my hair! Pompeo is a very classy, fun salon. The staff is super friendly, and very clean. THis was my first time at Salon Pompeo.. and its now the only salon i will go to! Pros: friendly staff, open late Cons: none! more

I got a cut by Billy yesterday and it was great, but the best part of my visit was he cured my headaches with a simple suggestion as he was shampooing me! I have a tendency to ask for unachievable styles for my hair type and Billy knew what would work and what wouldnt and I'm glad he didnt listen to me or I would have had a mess on my head. He is really great. The staff is super friendly and they have never ever been rude when I call, even when I get lost on my way there. I've also gotten hilites from Kim and she is the only person in Dallas it seems who understands dark asian hair. The color was perfect..meaning..she didnt turn it orange or green like most other salons I've been to. I love this salon. Pros: Relaxed and fun atmosphere, yet upscale Cons: None more

I chose this salon because i heard good reviews & i'm new here. My hair stylist didn't listen to me. I told her I wanted a gradual layering instead I got a block of hair as if i had cut it myself. My philosopy is: if the hairdresser's hair is not well kept-dont expect anything sensational on your hair and guess what, her hair was a mess. Other than that she was polite and atmosphere was nice. At the end of the day you have to find someone who understands what you want. more

I JUST GOT A NEW SERVICE CALLED ''BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT'', AND MY HAIR HAS NEVER EVER BEEN THIS STRAIGHT, HEALTHY & HAD SO MUCH SHINE TO IT!!!! MIKE EVANS DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON MAKING MY CURLY & PUFFY HAIR, STRAIGHT AND SOFT, ALSO I HAVE NO FRIZZ AT ALL. I HAVE REAL LONG AND THICK HAIR THAT HAS BEEN COLORED W/ HI LITES. I CAN GET THE ''BLOWOUT & COLOR '' IN THE SAME DAY.I HAVE NEVER LOVED MY HAIR UNTIL NOW!!!!! MIKE ALSO GAVE ME A WONDER HAIRCUT. NOW I CAN JUST WASH MY HAIR WHEN I WANT TOO AND NOT SPEND ALL DAY DRYING AND FLAT IRONNING IT. I went to this salon for about a year, and I still like a lot of things about it, but in the end I have decided to part ways. The environment is great- the salon is decorated beautifully, and the staff is young & energetic, and they wear "party clothes" to add to the fun, they stay open late and you can get drunk while waiting on your color to set, However, I've had really mixed results with customer service, and feel that for the most part, their efforts to make a sale are too aggressive as well as transparent (please, lets not show our desire for money THAT much!) The only real issues I have with the salon are: * can be difficult to make an appointment * it's even more difficult to make an appointment in which you get color AND cut on the same night (story to be included below) * color selection is small and does not offer enough variety of tones/shades, needs greater spectrum of subtle tones for professionals. * employees are too pushy to make a sale on products, which are all very expensive * inconsistent customer service All of the employees are trained to do both cut and color, but on three occasions at the salon, and two over the phone while trying to schedule, I have been told by the receiptionist and the person cutting my hair that night, that "although [so-and-so] is trained to do color, they just don't like to, and therefore I won't be able to have it done." I feel that this is a very tacky thing to tell customers to their face, and left me to wonder, Is this place run by professionals or prima donnas?? In any case, this is not an obstacle I will have to have anymore, because I've switched salons. This was my first visit to Pompeo on McKinney. I had heard about the salon and Keri from someone whose hair I loved, her hair is a vibrant auburn (yep, natural redhead) and a hard color to get just right. Her hair always looks great and she highly recommended Keri. I went in wanting something short and spikey, but not too spikey, not too bizarre and easy to fix. She listened, she cut and I LOVE IT. I have not had to use anything other than my dryer which takes less than 5 minutes, some amazing paste product she recommended and it looks great and is so easy. Everyone at work noticed immediately and wanted to know if I colored it. We did not, the cut just brings out all my own natural highlights. I work downtown so this is great, go get beautified, have a drink and wait until all the traffic is gone and go home or go some place fun and eat. Parking was easy turn left (off McKinney) before Frankie's to covered free parking. Ride elevator to 1st floor. Thank you Keri. PS I love your hair....I'll be back. Been looking for a superb hair salon in the uptown area. I like a very natural look and have a hard time finding someone to listen and do what I want. I was elated by the fact that Keri Caldwell listened, offered suggestions and I walked out with a very natural and yet noticeable highlight that I really liked. Have received many compliments. Will definitely be back to see Keri. I was also excited that they do waxing too, Andrea did a fantastic job on my facial needs. Overall - great experience - definitely 5 Stars!! more

Keri Caldwell is one of the best hair stylists I have ever had. She listens to my desires and also keeps me up-to-date with current styles. She is one of the best hair colorists in the metroplex. She is good at visualizing a new style created to the shape of your face. She's attentive and interested in her customers. She will take the extra time to make you feel relaxed and pampered. Look no further. I highly recommend Keri to anyone looking for a stylist. more

Salon Pompeo has everything you could possibly ask for out of a salon from amazing stylist, great staff, cool vibe, drinks, natural looking spray tans, massages,waxing, and lets not forget about the wonderful facials! whats not to like... this place is soo cool... they serve wine and beer while you wait and everyone is super friendly.. i just called and got Keri for a cut and color and she was awesome... she also recommended other stylist if she was to busy next time (i am generally a last minute booker)... how nice was that!!!! i read all the reviews and instead of going for the walk in price i booked with a seasoned professional korina . she has been cutting hair at salon pompeo for 7 years and it shows SHE'S THE BEST.... she only cuts hair so she recommended able to color my hair...WHAT A TEAM!!!! just like everything else in life you get what you pay for!!! I would love to recommend Pompeo and especially Lea, but then everyone would know my great hair secret and then she would be constantly booked and I would never get an appointment and then I would have all bad hair days again. Seriously, great salon, great haircut in a fun atmosphere. (just don't take all of her appointments) more

Being new to Dallas I had no idea where to start. Thank God I found Salon Pompeo. I got the perfect touch up to my blonde highlights. The stylist did need to use a toner, however; at least she recognized that and I left with my usual natural-looking golden hues. I explained ahead of time that I only like very fine highlighting and she came through on that request as well as a simple trimming of my layers! I'd definitely recommend this place to a friend. (and a nice cool glass of pinot grigio while you are there!) Pros: Great Color, Friendly, Clean, good wine! Cons: Make sure you ask where the free garage is and do not pay to park across the street. more

I just moved to Dallas from Cali and was looking for someone to give me an awesome yet painless (yes, it"s possible) brazillian wax and I has found the place. I had a mamosa while I waited and I was out of there in twenty minutes!! Ladies I highly recommend it!! Pros: Smooth as a baby's..... Cons: None so far more

I have been going to the same stylist for two years and I love her. She can do not only my cut but she also does color which makes it very convenient with my schedule. They also stay open late which is a huge plus. My particular stylist goes above and beyond to try to get her appointments in even if it means staying until 7pm. They offer deals on drinks so you can relax while you get treated. It's in a great location too! The only drawback is that it can be difficult to get an appointment if you call last minute... I have recommended Salon Pompeo to many friends and they have had great experiences as well. Pros: My stylist Cons: Not available easily as I would like but that's because she is great! more

The color came out good but the cut, not so much. They hacked off my hair when I only asked for a little bit off. I don't know what stylists don't understand about "don't cut too much." I figured after all the good reviews, I would get what I wanted but again I'm left disappointed. I guess I will have to continue to try and find a stylist who will listen to what I want. It's a very nice salon, I wish I would have been more happy with the results. more

Went in to salon pompeo with ugly hair and got the best hair cut I've had in my life! Mike cut my hair just like I wanted it.Great stylist. I did not get the same ol' hair cut every one here in dallas has.I will be refering all my friends. Pros: great services,wine,hours more
