I tried to call today to make an appt and found out they had closed. I was just there in August and there was no mention of closing. I loved this place and I loved my hairstylist. If anyone knows what happened to some of these talented gals please let us know on this site. Trish Erin etc...... where are you??? I am so sad to see Salon Monten closed it's doors in the early part of september....I absolutely LOVED going to Erin and I intend to find her at whatever cost. If any of you know where she is working- spread the word! She is not a secret to be kept- she does fabulous work and her color and cuts are A-Mazing. Everyone is so nice there! I love feeling pampered and this is a great place to do it. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming- as opposed to some other places I have been before. My color and cut is always great no matter who I see- they all do a great job. The scalp massage you get with service is my favorite part! Check this place out- you will look and feel great. I love coming to this salon! I always look and feel great afterwards. I am getting married this fall and can't wait to have all my friends come in and get their hair done. Nichole at Salon Monten has been doing my hair for some time now and I have been very happy with the results. She really cares about how it turns out. I also really like that the products don't contain the chemicals like you find at conventional salons. In a ethically-correct shopping guide I was reading recently Aveda products (and parent company) were one of very few that received an 'A' grade. more

Salon Monten is the best salon I've ever used. The staff is friendly and professional, best of all the quality of their work is excellent. This is an Aveda salon, so you know the products are great. All natural, no chemicals, no animal testing and products for every type of hair and skin. The make up is understated and in the latest colors. Candles and fun decor are also available. They have pedicures and manicures in addition to hair styling, color, & perms. The staff gets regular training on the latest trends and I have seen all ages of men, women and children there. A cup of hot herbal tea or coffee is always offered when a client walks in. My favorite stylist is Coley Blank. She has a knack with color that is amazing. I know she'll only choose colors that fit my hair and skin tones, so I let her experiment every time I go. I have yet to have her do anything I didn't love. Coley keeps the salon lively joking with the rest of the staff and keeping things light. I have referred several friends to Coley and they have all been happy with the quality of her work and the humor she spreads around like sunshine. I have been to several Aveda salons and while they all do good work, this one has the best atmosphere based on the entire staff and the ambiance. It's comfortable without being dowdy and upscale without mimicking a warehouse. I highly recommend it (and Coley) to anyone interested in a great cut and/or color with a side of personality. The staff was so friendly and very personable. I was surprised when i was offered a beverage just for being a customer, what salon does that?.. i'm definitely coming back. I loved that i was able to have a conversation with my stylist and that there were no awkward moments. Pros: service, awesome staff, clean & fun atmosphere Cons: none more

The stylists are so friendly and fun. My stylist is Nichole and she does a great job even when I don't come in as often as I need to. I have really hard hair to color and she does a great job everytime. more
