Laguna Beach Hair! 12/14/2010

I found Salon La Mer on Citysearch. I have now been 3 times to see Jennifer...each visit 4 weeks apart. I had gotten a terrible cut from another salon...butchered would be the word. Jennifer made my color and cut livable until it grew out some. Now I have a great cut that swings with my movements and the color is great. Just in time for the holidays! more

Jennifer fixed my color and cut 6/4/2010

I have waist length hair that I love and refuse to cut off. On April 1st I got a horrible cut and color at Salon Platinum--the cut was crooked and the color nearly black underneath. I looked like Elvira put through the shredder. I refused to get the color lifted as the damage would be too great a price to pay. So I waited two months for some of the color to fade out. On June 4th I went in to see Jennifer at La Mer. We discussed color and cut. I told Jennifer I wanted long layers to give my hair shape; I told her that given the bad cut I was even willing to let her take it shorter than I would normally allow a stylist to go if she need the latitude to fix the cut. She told me she could give me long layers and still save my length. In the end she only took off one inch off the bottom to even it out. She then beautifully blended in long layers for a very long Jennifer Aniston style cut. The color was a bit more complicated. The other ?stylist? didn?t listen to me when I told her my hair was porous; consequently, she made my hair way too dark. Jennifer said it was best to leave the darker underlayer alone and correct the top layer of color. She said she wouldn?t lie to me; that it would be a couple of colors for me to get back to the color that I wanted. I really appreciated her honesty. She also didn?t recommend lifting the color due to damage. Correcting the top layer actually softened the look of the dark hair underneath. The color and cut looks great--I?m really happy. I made a follow-up appointment for 6 weeks before I left the salon. One last note: I have severe allergies and psoriasis for which I see an allergist and dermatologist on a regular basis. The products used at the other salon caused me severe scalp irritation and skin shedding. By contrast, the Aveda products used at La Mer did not irritate or burn my scalp. wonderful hair salon! 1/2/2010

Today was my first time to Salon La Mer, and I went based on the great reviews here. I was not disappointed at all! The owner Nahid cut the hair of both my boyfriend and me. She asked many questions about what we wanted, and also offered her insight as to what would look best for each of us. For example, my boyfriend's hair is thinning, and she described why a certain cut would make it look less noticeable. For myself, she transformed my hair and gave me a fantastic blowout. Moreover, the service is impeccable! She offered us tea and beverages at the beginning, and near the end of our visit, she offered us another drink, incl. a glass of wine if we wanted! Nahid has a wonderful, humorous personality and she's very enjoyable to talk with. The salon is also decorated in such a way that's very warm and inviting, almost like a home. And because it was our first visit there, we got a 20% discount. We will definitely be returning for future haircuts! Pros: hair expertise; fantastic service more

Nahid/owner is the best stylist I have ever had! 10/16/2009

So many people have been telling me I have the most beautiful hair, even my husband noticed, thank you Nahid! Her prices are a lot less then my last stylist who handed me off to someone different everytime. She does NOT gossip, or hand you off to other people to was your hair, or mix your color. She is honest with you when you ask for advice. She is an answer to my prayer. FIRST CLASS TREATMENT ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Beautiful salon, like being in a Paris salon! more

Niloo is a great hairstylist. 7/17/2008

I just wanted to thank Niloo for her beautiful work she did on all of us. It was my sister's wedding and she did the whole wedding for us, that was beyond of our expectation. She was very patient with each one of us and did our hair just the way we wanted and we all were so happy to have her as our stylist. I highly recommend Niloo for her exceptional personality and of course the great work she does. more

It's not just the BEST hair salon and stylists, it's an instant family that really cares about YOU 7/15/2008

I have moved a lot over the years, therefore requiring me to find new hair stylists and to be honest I was always excited to see what te next stylist had to offer. However, ever since I met Niloo (my stylist) and Nahid (the owner) I found what I never new I was missing. They take time with each client to make sure you get not only what you're looking for but beyond. One day I went to the salon without eating, after 2 hours I was starving; Nahid, without telling me, went to buy me food. Another time Niloo calls my cell before my appointment to ask if I wanted anything from starbucks. Not to mention, everytime I leave the salon I feel like a million dallors and my husband usually cant take his hands off of me! I feel so blessed to have found them and I can't imagine having replace them. My husband promised that I wouldn't have to!!! :) Pros: Great ambience, parking, service, very clean, personable, more

Nahid is great! 7/7/2008

When I first walked into this Salon and was greeted by my stylist, Nahid. She was the nicest lady and I had a feeling that I was going to leave happy. Whenever I come to her, I know that I can trust her with whatever we decide to do. What truly makes me feel comfortable with my experience is the fact that we both discuss what she is going to do and I feel that she puts in all her effort to leave me with amazing results. In all my years of getting my hair done, I have yet to meet someone with the amount of passion that Nahid demonstrates for working with hair. Not only is she a wonderful hairstylist, but she also is very welcoming and easy to talk to. Would highly recommend! Pros: Aveda Products, Friendly Staff, great atmosphere more

Extremely Happy with my Hair!!! 7/2/2008

I found Salon La Mer / Aveda Salon on Citysearch and went in on a whim. Nilo is an excellent stylist. She talked to me for a good length of time about what I wanted my hair to look like before jumping into the cut, making me feel comfortable and confident that she knew what I wanted. She did a precise job replicating a picture I brought in of the cut I wanted to get, and honestly talked to me about modifying the cut to fit my fine hair- a refreshing and appreciated experience. The staff was kind, competant, and professional. more

Fabulous Salon! 2/3/2008

I have finally found an amazing hair stylist in Orange County! Nahid is not only fabulous at what she does, but she makes the whole experience very fulfilling. I LOVE the drastic change I ended up going with (from long, straight, all one length hair, to a Posh Spice blunt cut), and will be going to Nahid from now on. I am already getting compliments galore, and owe it all to her! I highly recommend this salon if you are looking for true professionals with a very positive vibe. (It is open on Saturdays as well). Pros: An amazing atmosphere and wonderful staff! more

Best Hair Color I've ever had!! 12/13/2007

I found this Salon on the internet. I was blown away with the service that was provided. I had my hair done by a stylist named Nahid. She was one of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever met. Her work is phenominal. The whole experience was great. I had a glass of wine with some little treats. They have me a hand rub while I had my hair done. I went in there because my last stylist had ruined my color. Nahid repaired it and I will be going to her forever. I would very highly recommend this Salon to anyone that is looking for a new Salon. A++. Pros: Everything about it! Cons: Parking was bit difficult..but not horribly bad.. more
