Salon 162

I've been going to Nancy for at least 20 years and I never have to wonder how my hair is going to look - even though it's gotten thinner and grayer. She takes care of the gray and gives me a perfect cut suitable for my age and features yet still stylish and up-to-date. I've seen her work on others and am always impressed. I'll keep going to her as long as she'll let me! more

I was referred to a specific stylist at Salon 162, and my first experience was wonderful. They gave me tea while my hair was being conditioned, they always have beautiful art and very good magazines, and above all my stylist knew how to deal with my hair (it's quite unruly and awkward). For a cut, a deep conditioning treatment I didn't ask for, and straightening, I paid $30. 6 months later, I decided to go in again for a touch up. I saw the same stylist, and she did an okay job. For a cut and a curly style, I paid $40. Wait, $10 more? For less than I got the first time? Okay... 5 months later, I went back to the salon. My old stylist was gone, so I got my hair cut by her boss. Not the best service, but I chalked that up to her just getting to know me. She gave me almost the same cut as the last couple of times, gave me a curly style, and charged me $50! Maybe that's because she's the boss and she's allowed to charge whatever she wants, but I'm seriously tired of my haircuts going up in price every time I go in. Not worth it anymore. more

I found this salon due to advertisment that allowed walk-ins and I will never go to another salon as long as I live in Boise. The stylists are fantastic. They are so talented and teach you as they work. There is always great conversations, artwork, and they are always smiling. Its so nice to go somewhere where the girls actually show how happy they are to do your hair!!! Its hard to leave after im done, i could sit and talk with them all day. Courtney is a very talented and unique stylist. She pays close attention to details and is a perfectionist. She provides a very fun and relaxing atmosphere. I haven't let anyone else touch my hair since Courtney became my stylist. If you want to look hip or classy, Courtney is the stylist for the you. She is located in the BODO district of downtown. I always feel welcome when i walk through the doors at salon 162, each and every employee is ready with a warm smile and a quick greeting making it a great deal more comfortable. Along with the friendly apparatus the job always gets done professionally. Each visit Courtney is able to tame my uni-brow into much cleaner ""set"" of eyebrows that should be there along with a great haircut specially fitting my style to make me feel cleaner and more confidant, ready to face the world again. I walked into this place after seeing the sign many times by my work. The stylists are very diverse but all friendly and nice. They had the best music in town. Maria was very professional and gave me the best haircut in my life plus she washed before I went back to work! They always have different artwork and drinks in the fridge. My experience at Salon 162 was absolutely extraordinary. The atmosphere is so cozy and the staff is so beautiful and friendly. However the best part hands down is hair artist Courtney King! You can't help but love her. She is amazingly talented, has a vivacious personality, and is extremely professional. It is a must you set an appointment with her. I was looking for someone who actually wanted to do my hair, not be annoyed by my somewhat picky requests. I seem to get that alot!\r i was given Courtney's card by a friend at work.\r I was introduced to the other stylists working, given plenty to drink, and even a snack! So my stylist had a baby and I couldn't seem to find anyone to do what I wanted! I was either taken blonde when i wanted subtle highlights, or i had an inch or regrowth when i left a couple of salons! I don't wanna sound picky but I like to look good! I got Brandon's card from a friend at the co-op and gave him a call. He was very nice on the phone. When i met him I was a little timid due to the fact that he is covered in tattoos and so was my last guy that made me look like a punk rock mom! I told him what I want and he helped guide me to what i love now! He was very proffesional and taught me how to do my hair, how to keep it up and just made me look and feel good! I hope that he never leaves!!! See him! You won't regret it! I am so glad he moved here and is my new favorite! The other dark haired lady was so nice as well! I highly recomend this salon!
