Sakura Japanese Restaurant is Great for Hibachi and Private Room 12/10/2009

Sakura was the first Sushi/Japanese Restaurant between Westport and Connecticut back in very early 80's. Impressively they have kept up with the competition that moved in. We like going their for the Hibachi as well as Sushi. I've used the private rooms for "girls night" dinners as well. I think it is a bit pricey and don't go as much since there are so many other Japanese Restaurants in the area. But, I do stop in now and again and remember going there when I was in High Schoo.. more

outstanding food 12/22/2007

Sakuras is a delicious japanese resturant. They offer either a sit down dinner that is like ones they have in Japan or habachi. My family and I always have the habachi. It is wonderful! The chefs are very lively and make dinner a blast. They flip things in your mouth too. They also make volcanos and fires where they pour oil on the grill and light it. It's really hot, but beautiful at the same time. Make sure that you make reservations at least 1 week in advanced. They are always busy. I highly reccommend Sakuras to anyone who loves a good meal. more

Great atmosphere 11/25/2007

Sakura is the best Japanese in lower Fairfield County. Highly recommend any of the different types of Sushi. Saki is excellent along with presentation and humor of the hibachi chefs. more

Gotta comeback again 4/7/2005

Going here for years. Has a sushi bar, alcahol bar, a sushi room for you to wait for you're table, and private eating rooms where you sit on the floor. Then there's the hibachi dining area. One table seats 8. Chef puts on a great show while he interacts with the guests at the table. Sometimes he'll even fling something over to someone at another table. All while you're eating you soup and salad. You get a good amount for food for the money you're shelling out. But usually you'll have take home. Going to the bathroom is like a small journey. You see a pond, a parrot, and finch brids. Excellent dipping sauces for you're entre. Great ginger salad dressing. Great place to go. I go about once a year because of the price, but it's definately worth the money and it's a great treat. Reservations are a MUST. Pros: Entertaining, Delicious, Fun Cons: A little pricey, gotta be reserved more
