Greatest Experience! 9/27/2006

I've had the pleasure of sailing on both a breakfast and dinner cruise, both were wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone. Captain Shane is a friendly, reliable, charming man. He is great with young and old alike. Regardless if you have ever been on a boat, he will make you want to come back. The food was great, the views were superb, truly there is no better experience in Portland! Can't wait to return!!! Pros: Nothing finer than a cruise on Scovare! Cons: I don't live close enough to do this every week. more

A good time was had by all 6/20/2006

Portland is best seen from the water & Scovare offers a comfortable & fun vantage point. This was my third trip on Scovare but my first time on the dinner cruise. I took some out-of-town friends for the evening. Captain Shane tailored the sail to our wishes (choice of menu, who wanted to participate in sailing the ship or not, etc). Even my friend who was nervous about being on the water enjoyed the trip. As usual, the meal was tasty - green salad with apples, herb-rubbed chicken, lemon pepper salmon & cajun-spiced salmon, & apple pie. We'll be back again! more

Lewis & Clark Sail 5/15/2006

Experience the natural wonders in Portland's ""back yard""! This was my first overnight cruise and Captain Shane's attentiveness and humor made the trip very enjoyable. My favorite leg was winding down the Multnomah Channel where we saw osprey nesting and we also stopped to explore some islands. We moored for the evening at St. Helen's historic waterfront and had dinner at a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant called the Klondike. As we settled into our bunks for the night, Scovare gently rocked us to sleepa perk that doesnt cost anything extra. The next day, sailing was wonderful when mother nature was cooperating! You can learn a thing or three while helping to rig and fly the spinnaker and then take in the scenery as you're being silently propelled by every wisp of wind. When you work up your appetite again, Shane can grill a really mean salmon steak that hits the spot! Pros: Mother Nature, Great fun, Educational more

A wonderful time 5/5/2006

I just took my first sail with Scovare and it won't be my last. My friends and I had a wonderful time on a Wednesday night dinner cruise. The food was good, the scenery lovely and service fantastic. You can help with the sailing if you want, or just sit back and relax. I am already thinking about when we can go again! Pros: dinner on the water more

Great Food! Great Fun! 5/4/2006

My friends and I had a blast having dinner on the Scovare. It was great fun to cruise along the Willamette while relaxing. Dinner was excellent and there was plenty for all. I know I'll be going back. more

No Better View of Portland 4/20/2006

I've had two dinner cruises and a Sunday brunch aboard Scovare and loved every minute of each experience. Watching the sun set behind the Portland city skyline from the vantage point of the Willamette river is such a relaxing way to end the day. Captain Shane is a ton of fun and the food has always been well prepared, tasty and plentiful. The daytime cruise was a wonderful way for my young daughter to explore the riverfront. We saw a seal in the river in front of us near Willamette Falls and saw a blue heron fly right past us in Portland! If you want to create a really special dinner, this is a unique and great way to do it. Pros: Great view, Good food, Unique Cons: BYOB more
