I love this restaurant ! The food is exception, whether you're just going for a drink after work and appetizers, or a full course dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful, with a wonderful view of the water. The staff is attentive. The lobster bisque is exceptional, as well as their seafood entries. My friend had the prime rib, and couldn't believe the portion size, as well as it being cooked to perfection. There is wonderful music during the week, as well as on the weekends. We have been going to the Sage restaurant for years. It?s been our place for all our special occasions. Sage was special to us! My son went to The Sound School next door. Sadly it has been going down hill. Each time we go back we hope it will be better but its worse. The last straw is when I got violently ill from a meal I was served last night on Easter Sunday. Before calling I ruled out the possibility of everything I had consumed previously. I called and spoke with Amy. She spoke to me in a rude and condescending manner. Talking over me and not even letting me speak a full sentence. As I write this I am still extremely ill from food poisoning. Amy has no concern for me or others, or the health of someone's elderly parent. I told her I was concerned for the next person that eats whatever it was that made me sick. She was not! She would not answer my questions and she blamed the ingredients of the food I ordered, then she ended the phone call. Very disappointed! We will not be back!! Now looking for a new place to celebrate family and friends. This is absolutely not the place. Sadly I think the manager Amy could have made me feel somewhat different if she cared. Honestly not enough to eat there again! I asked her was it going to take someone ending up in the hospital or possibly dieing for her to be concerned. more

The food at this restaurant is truly awful. We dine out a lot and and had heard negative comments about this restaurant, however, a party was being held there so we had to attend. There were 17 of us and the waitstaff was very attentive. When the food came it was clear that many items were not fresh. We are not a table of complainers (mother's 85th birthday so we didn't want to say anything). We should have listened when we were told not to go here. Bill was over $700 and did not include tip. I have been to Sage a few times now, once for a party and a few times for Sunday brunch or dinner. I really liked the food and the atmosphere was nice. It is also nice not to have to drive into downtown New Haven to go to a nice place. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I knew that before going there. I had the lobster roll and it was great. I am going to go there again this weekend with my family. more

Horrendous experience. Despite the beautiful setting right on the water this restaurant should be avoided at all costs. Salad wasn't fresh, clams casino were drenched with butter and the main courses were barely adequate. One of my guests had a sub-par piece of salmon but the dining experience came to a halt with the lamb. I ordered my lamb medium-rare and it came out medium-well. Without an attitude I returned it to the kitchen and minutes later the OWNER of the restaurant came flying outside and said, "this is medium-rare in my restaurant, what do you want?" \r \r I suggested that it wasn't cooking uniformly throughout and only one bone of the whole rack-of-lamb was cooked correctly. The owner said, "of course, the center is going to be much more cooked than the outsides." I followed the owner to finish the discussion with him and he told me that we had been making, "special requests all night." I actually like the appetizers better than the entrees and they are cheaper. im not to shy about spending $ dont get me wrong. The dinners are good but there are places i would rather go for dinner. the view is nice not great you have to look past the sewage plant lol but its not bad at all. The service is good and its more

Food was wonderful. Have tuna sushi, was the best I ever had. Service was just as good as the food. Waiters smiled, and even enjoyed waiting on you. Wasn't rushed sat there all night. View was excellent. Can't say enought about it. AAA+++ Pros: view, smile from waiter, Food more
