Terrible service. I didn't appreciate paying to be ignored and treated rudely when I wasn't. So many better sushi places in Tucson. more

best sushi in town 7/22/2008

i LOVE this place!! they have the largest variety of sushi and it's all SO good! i love the fusion of mexican and japanese, not to mention the size of the rolls (they are huge) and it's all decently priced. they bring out miso and edamame almost as soon as you sit down and all the servers are very attentive and nice, unlike other sushi places i've been to in town. i have nothing bad to say about this place! i recommend it to anyone who is craving good sushi in a central location of town. happy eats!! more

Mexican Sushi 6/1/2008

Although I lived in Japan for five years, I am not a sushi snob who insists all sushi must conform to traditional Japanese forms. After all, in Japan they put corn, mayo, and tunafish on pizza so we have nothing to apoligize for if we stuff an avacado in a maki. I have just always made the distinction between ""Japanese Sushi"" and ""American Sushi"". Now I have to include ""Mexican Sushi"" as a new and distinct sushi style.\r The rolls here are unique. They fuse the best of American sushi with Mexican seasonings to make some of the best roll I've ever tasted. They are huge and very reasonably priced. I was less excited about the hot food, the tonkatsu was overcooked and the sauce was soy and catsup. Stick to the rolls.\r While you're there, check out the artwork. Pros: Great maki, low prices, unique Cons: It could use a coat of paint more

Great sushi at a great price. Casual. 9/23/2007

Love it for the prices for sushi. Especially love the mini rolls. Never had anything but sushi and the soups. Never had a problem with anything. It's no fancy place, service is fine. If you want a nice evening out with a nice atmosphere, it's not the place to go though. Otherwise, highly recommended if you just are craving some good sushi with out spending a ton. Pros: Sushi, price Cons: Setting more

great service, best sushi, best place to go 2/26/2007

There's no other restaurant in Tucson where you can satisfy a craving for sushi and shrimp tostados at the same place and time. Mexican-influenced Japanese cuisine is served with panache by a staff that is both friendly and efficient; the seafood is always fresh.\r Don buri, chiles, sushi rolls, and the popular greppa (a fish and shrimp dish served with fresh vegetables) are some of the most popular menu selections. The Camarones a la Diabla, (shrimp with hot sauce), will most likely bring tears to your eyes. Most lunch and dinner entrees cost $6-$8. Mexican and Japanese beers are available, as is sake. A glass of house wine sells for $4.50. \r Very good specials.. \r \r more

You call this a sushi bar? 10/18/2005

I kinda get the fusion thing they have going on here, but after eating at some of the best sushi bars in Los Angeles, this place makes me wonder. I've never, and I mean NEVER, have had lettuce in a sushi roll. At Sushi Saga, I found it difficult to find any sushi rolls without lettuce. The only things I did find were the California roll, Philadelphia roll, and Spicy Scallop. The place is small, parking absolutely stinks, HOWEVER the teriyaki is great here, and so are the green mussels. Do yourself a favor and don't bother getting sushi here. Pros: good teriyaki, service Cons: sushi, sushi, sushi more
