The food is OK, though the prices are definitely on the higher side. The staff is very courteous. But the owner (the dark fatso) is interested only in attending 'certain' customer...

Saffron is a gem of a restaurant in Westmont. They succeed on all points including attractive atmosphere, comprehensive service and food that will knock your socks off! Seriously, this is the best Indian food outside of India! They offer a wide spectrum of entrees including meat and vegetarian dishes with flavors that are unique to Saffron. The Jeera Chicken and Saag Gosht are magical dishes. Do not miss the Baigan Bharta – you will not believe that eggplant could taste so fantastically! Come for the lunch buffet and sample many of the incredible dishes offered here! Pros: Best food outside of India Cons: No dinner buffet more

Best Indian Food!!! 12/19/2008

The food at this place is absolutely amazing. I've dined at several indian restaurants throughout Chicago and nothing compares to Saffron. The food is fresh and bursting with great flavors. Even the desserts were great. I wish they would open one up in the city! Pros: Great food, reasonable prices more

Best Indian Food in chicagoland 12/17/2008

I recently had an event here and it went wonderfully. The staff did a great job and the event went smoothly. The food was amazing and the guests kept telling me that throughout the evet. Pros: Distinctive Food Quality Cons: Banquet hall for smaller groups. more

I went in to try Indian Food for the first time in my life and all I left with is WOW. Being in the hospitality industry I have been completely amazed. Not only was the food excellent, the staff couldn't have been more competent. I have referred this restaurant to all my friends and family and am going to be a regular customer at this restaurant. The food is OK, though the prices are definitely on the higher side. The staff is very courteous. But the owner (the dark fatso) is interested only in attending 'certain' customers. 'Uncle Tom' might be an apt term to describe him. I have decided never to visit this place ever again. Pros: Good staff (people serving food) Cons: Poor Management. more

Hands down, THE INDIAN GARDEN is the best place I have had Indian food in the US. I am originally from India, so I know Indian cooking and flavors. It was a very pleasant surprize to see an Indian restaurant bring the homely flavors and warmth to Indian dining. \r \r The decor is beautiful at this place, the location is very central to Michigan Ave., the food is SUPERB and the hostess is very warm, charming and friendly. She told us so much about Indian cooking and desserts.\r \r I would highly recommend this place, for a wonderful taste of Indian cooking, and a good time. If you are looking for Indian food in Chicago and bypass this place, you are missing something special.
