Saffron is The Best Indian Restaurants in Triangle (RTP) more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/2/2013

My husband and I go to Saffron often (for dinner, we've never had the lunch buffet). The Paneer Pasanda is my favorite dish, and the serving size is so large that I can eat it for lunch the next day too. The cheese kulcha is to die for. Everyone is always friendly and accommodating (bringing extra rice for us to take home with leftovers, or adjusting the heat level of my food when I accidentally order it too spicy). I really like the atmosphere in the restaurant too. more

I eat at Indian restaurants often. I go to Saffron once a month or so with my wife as they have amazing Lamb Vindaloo and Kashmiri Naan (mixed nuts). It's some of the best Indian food I have had. I have tried a few other things on their menu and they were pretty good, but not nearly like that one dish. \r \r It's obvious that Saffron has been making a huge effort to improve their service and their restaurant overall. They take it very seriously if you have any concerns. The ambience is really nice. more

Saffron has the worst customer service I have ever seen. The first time I went, they ran out of rice in the buffet and they didnt put any rice out no matter how many times we asked the waiters. I decided to give it another chance and the next time I went, all of the food in the buffet was cold. Again, we told the waiters many times but they never heated up the food or cared about our request. We had ordered some food off of the menu as well which was completely undercooked. Someone needs to inform them that cold and undercooked food is a serious health hazard. We will never be going again and advise others not to as well. The worst Indian restaurant I have been to. more

Simply has gone down hill since change in management. The chicken dishes are rubbery and bland. Service is atrocious. Stay away! There are plenty of other places for good Indian food...even the frozen section at Harris teeter has better tasting Indian food! more

Poor sanitation score.....85B.....used to frequent their lunch buffet until I saw their score. Then the buffet started getting cold and dishes repeated. I had a friend go twice in a week and saw the same items in buffet..bringing my business somewhere else.....\r \r more

Run Don't Walk Serious YUM Factor 5/18/2012

Run don't walk here. We went armed with a Citipass coupon to check out a new place for dinner.....and it was one of the most amazing meals I have had in a very very long time. Everything was incredible and the portions were so big that we have enough for lunch (and maybe dinner again) tomorrow. We sat outside on the patio and the meal along with the outside atmosphere made for an amazing experience. Very very well executed menu. more

Best Indian Food 3/22/2012

What a restuarant.. great food, good service. My favorite, CTM and Kararee Bhindi (Hope, I spelled it right).. I travel a lot and have been to quite a few Indian restuarants.. this one stands out the best. I am back in town now and will be here for next 2 weeks. I thought of googling to see new resturants around the corner.Just came across some of the comments about Saffron in Morissville. I see some comments below that too on Valentines day, I was eating with my girlfriend that day.Yes, it was quite busy and everyone were overwhelmed. Since food came late, they offerred free apetizers and drinks to us and to my next table. We both accepted it as a compliment. Not sure, they are the same people writing bad comments. if they are same people, I suggest, have some decency, Accept free things and then write bad about a succefull Indian resturant is not good. For all, please try this amazing restuarant before reading any of the comments. more

What is the deal? 2/15/2012

I would like to say that I could express an opinion on the food, but I can't. Last night we went to celibrate our anniversary and was very suprized. I have eaten there before and found the food very nice. Last night after an hour and a half we never received anything. After a very long wait we got up to leave and were told if we stayed we would get our drinks for free. The drinks had not mde it to the table in an hour so we left. I will never return. On a side note: four other tables left while we waited. more

Poor Service and Zero Value, this is your place 2/14/2012

I mean, what happened! I am a repeat customer who lives 2 mins from this restaurant. I am acquainted with the people that work there and have never had an issue. Well, I guess that is because the times that I go, there are only two other to 4 other tables, tops. I am pretty easy to please with some Chicken Tikka Masala and a Jack on the rocks. But boy, I am so unimpressed after this evening. "" The Valentine's Special Menu was absolutely terrible. $35 for ""the special menu""- that turned out to be the most underwhelming meal I have ever seen( because- it was so small). Not to mention, the food was cold and just crappy. ( When typically it is really great). I am thinking, Is this a case of greed? Are they thinking, how can we milk our customers out of more money for less because it is a holiday, (Valentine's Day). Ultimately we tried to resolve the situation, because we are still hungry at this point, by order food to-go. Let me stress that I have never even felt compelled to write a review on city search or get up and leave a restaurant disappointed. They offered us a shitty deal- $10 off and two free beers and still we paid $65.00. And our to-go tikka masala was watered down- literally. So, just to let you know-we offered to pay for the two beers and our to-go meal. We were trying to be equitable. Never going back again!! On a side note 4 tables around us left because they weren't even served. And one table bitched to us about the shitty service because they had been there an hour and no service. more

Good food, terrible service 10/3/2011

My husband and I were so excited to try Saffron for the first time this past weekend, but were very disappointed in the service! The hostess was very friendly, but the wait staff looked completely miserable to be at work. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to bring us a glass of wine (not sure why since there were only 2-3 other couples in the restaurant) and we had to ask three times just to get a side of yogurt/cucumber sauce. All negatives aside, the food was great. I loved the Chicken Korma and my husband raved about the Chicken Vindaloo. Unfortunately, I just don't think it is enough to get us to go back a second time. Maybe take-put from now on? more

another dissapointment 9/30/2011

Just came from Saffron. I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants around the country and so many great experiences. Saffron however is a restaurant am not planning to return to for the following reasons: 1. Great food but very poor service. The only person that had great customer service was the hostess. 2. They added gratuity on our bill while we had not met the 6 person requirement. Would have tipped more than 18% but oh well. But then again am black and they probably thought I would not tip them! more

complete disappointment 6/23/2011

It is rare that I write a review the moment I get back from a night out, but this experience required such. We went to saffron with high expectations given other reviewer comments. They could not have been more wrong. We sat for a good 10 minutes before our order was taken. Then when our food did come - quite a while later - it have obviously been completed and left to sit on a counter somewhere. My korma had formed a skin over the sauce - like gravy does when it's let sit after cooking. My husbands dish was cold. The length of time it took to get our food was tolerable when we thought it was being cooked. With it so very obviously left sitting someplace after it was done - and we were waiting on it - wow - annoyed just doesn't cover it. Then we had the food itself. I had ordered mine mild. I prefer spicy, but my daughter wanted to try some and she can't tolerate anything but mild. It was NOT mild by any description. My husband had ordered his dish spicy and.... yep... it wasn't. It was NOT a complicated order. Then there was the order of bread that was not delivered with the meal... that we asked for... again... and again.... and again...... didn't come until we were getting ready to leave. sigh. I can't understand the horrible service as there were plenty of wait staff. I love Indian food - but I won't be back to saffron. There are other Indian places in this area that are much better and less impacting on ones blood pressure . I can honestly say that I was beyond disappointed - with the service - with the food - just with everything. We won't be back. more

Great food! 2/18/2011

Ate here the other day with friends. They had been after us to try it, thought we would enjoy it. They were spot on! Food was great, not the same ol' stuff that most Indian rest. have. The chef puts his touch on everything. Take you time and enjoy the food and save room for desert! more

Terrible !!! 1/17/2011

This place used to be good. Now I would not feed their food to my dog. Bad all around, food, service, price. I complained last time I went and they really didn't care. The reviews in their web site must be selected by themselves. Don't go. more

Wonderful 12/11/2010

I'm here on holiday from Birmingham uk the capital of curries in uk when my family told that saffron is the best in the triangle area I told them no it can't beat the curries I have had so we decided to go there when I arrived I was amazed by the restaurant It is beautifully designed. We sat and ordered our meal. We had ordered our appetizers which where kadak reshmi kebab, tandoori paneer and veg samosa it had arrived on our table I immediately went for the kebab and was pleasantly surprised by the texture and the mix herbs and spices it was delightful as was the paneer and samosa's our entrees where lamb rogan Josh, kadak chicken, chicken korma and lamb vindaloo our bread order was 2 tawa rotis 2 tandoori rotis and a garlic naan. Again I was amazed by the dishes lamb was cooked perfectly a beautiful soft texture with a spicy sauce and the chicken dishes were excellent I will defiantly come back before I leave and I recommend this restaurant to anyone coming here from the uk. Outstanding cuisine excellent service and a beautiful place. Thank you saffron for a wonderful night. more

omg what a restaurant 12/10/2010

I went to saffron of morrisville today for the first time and it was outstanding. The service was remarkable and the cuisine is to die for...and what a beautiful restaurant. It is warm and welcoming. I will recommend to friends and family to go and try. the manager was so polite he guided me through the menu and recommended some dishes I was amazed by everything this is 5star in my book thank you so much for a wonderful experience more

Horrible experience 12/6/2010

This place is disgusting with very rude staff; first of all there was a huge stain on the table cover which the staff changed after 3 reminders; then the food service was very slow and when we called the manager he was himself very rude and said that there was no delay. The staff was ignoring us and overall it was a pathetic service. This is not a cheap restaurant and at that cost you would expect much more.. recommendation... DO NOT go to this place! They spoilt a perfect evening. more

Saffron, Very disgusting 11/29/2010

This is a place to be wary of. My friend and I had appetizers there a couple of weeks ago. They burnt the vegetable cakes and turned them over to hide the burn. The raita they served with the papad tasted off, as in bad.\r it had a fishy taste to it. I had to ask what it was as it didn't taste like raita I've had in the past.\r We both lost our appetite when we saw the staff eating out of a common bowl with their hands that was at the door\r We couldn't finish our appetizers because they were prepared so badly.\r Needless to say, we came down with food poisoning the next day, E.coli. We have been suffering the last couple of weeks with it. I don't recommend this place at all. more
