Remote Start Installation = BIG MISTAKE 1/5/2012

I finally got a remote start for my Xmas present this year and have wanted one for years. It was installed the Thurs. before Xmas and it hasn't worked correctly ever. Today I have my car in the shop for the 2nd day in a row and I'm starting to worry that the electrical system may be ruined. My husband paid $549.00 for the unit and last night the only thing it would do was unlock the door. If we could do this over we would have gone elsewhere. My coworker said that he used Safe & Sound a couple of times and the 1st time it worked out well and the 2nd time there were problems. He doesn't plan on going back there and if I can get remote start working right you can believe that I will not be going back and I advise anyone else who wants a remote start installed to go anywhere else but, Safe & Sound. I went to the car parts store next door to purchase a dome lamp. They didn't have one in stock and sent me next door.\r \r The person sold me a lamp for 20+ $ and told me it would out last my car. \r \r It has been less than a year since that purchase. When I went back to the store they would not warranty it with out a receipt.\r \r I've owned a business and have ran businesses. \r \r I've learned being a woman "of my word" has brought my gifts into my life as well as friendships.\r \r In my opinion: this company has poor customer relations and does not back up their product.\r \r I would not recommend this company to anyone and will share my experience often. more

pretty damn good stuff! 3/7/2010

i bought my audio stuff from safe n sound on old seward highway in anchorage. best sound i have ever herd and well worth the money. and all these people the write bad reviews on this place is only because they got what they paid for! i bought a set of JL audio subs and a Alpine amp from them and they installed it. they ran the wires and all... lets jus say my ears hurt now lol, more

Safe & Sound is 1st Class 10/27/2009

I had them install an auto start in 2004. I just now brought my vehicle in to have the auto start checked out as it quit working after 5 years. They were great folks about it. I did not have to produce any sales receipt. They had my info on file, and fixed the problem. No charge to me. I say that's excellent service! more

Safe & Sound is JUNK 9/13/2009

I bought the basic auto start and power locks. I was promised quality and paid for it, but certainly didn't get it. Two of the four doors don't unlock or lock and the starter grinds for 4-5 seconds after the car starts, thats going to burn up quick. I took it back the next day and they refused to fix it. 400 bucks wasted. Avoid them, unless you like to waste your money and get cussed out when you ask them to fix their mistakes. more

Safe & Sound needs better help! 9/11/2009

The dvd player installed in the ceiling of the car by them plopped out of the ceiling while I was driving and almost clocked my little guy in the head. Apparently they tried to keep it there with two screws, in other words it was not bolted in at all.Gee I could have done that myself! Maybe they should read installation for dummies! more

They lie to you about amp installation prices 8/7/2007

I've used safe & sound for a remote start in the past and was pleased with their service, so I called up and asked how much it would be to install a new amp in my car and that I already had all the parts needed. They said $65 bucks plus whatever extra parts they needed to do the install. I made the appointment and showed up. When I got there I said here is my amp, here is my amp wiring kit. And then another guy from Safe & Sound said, "you need to buy our amp wiring kit or it isn't worth our time to install it for you!" That was never told to me over the phone. All I wanted was a simple installation and they wouldn't do it unless I purchased a bunch of their overpriced parts. They wanted twice what I paid for my amp wiring kit with the same gauge wire. So I said, "sorry for wasting your time and left." What I should have said was "I'm sorry you wasted my time and I will never be back to your store because you weren't honest with me." I understand if you only like to install your own eq more

Not the Best... 6/18/2007

I went to Safe N Sound to get my auto start and security installed... I got my autostart and that worked fine, the next morning I went to my car and all my cd's were stolen. All three of my doors had been unlocked and not closed all the way. I called Safe N Sound to ask why my alarm system didn't go off. They replied that they didn't install the alarm!!!!! I lost over 2,000 dollars just in my cd's. \r They said they would give me a free upgrade and to bring my car back in so that they can actually install the system... bad business!!! more

Over prices..Sells Car Audio above MSRP!!!Beware do your research!! 1/28/2007

Ok, I decided to go checkout Safe & Sound. They have all the price of the head units listed on the display boards and the sale price they are being sold for. For example a Kenwood head unit was listed as $775 and on sale for $575. Good deal right? Wrong! The MRSP is $575. So anyone who doesnt do the research to see if they are getting ripped off would pay $575. The actually sell on Crutchfield and many numerous other businesses and websites for around $350. This was a shock to me. Over paying $225 pissed me off and I returned the headunit. I took a picture if the other items the sell with my camera a I contacted the supplier to let the know that the are selling items over MSRP. This is a real bad thing to do if you are a business owner. You could possibly lose your product lines. Its is basically againts the suppliers policies. So stay away from this store you would pay $3000 for a car audio set-up that should cost $1900 and some change with a $300 install fee. These guys are RIPOFFS. more

Need that ride to boom? This is a place. 10/8/2005

Save and sound car audio and autostart is a very good place to go for your professionally installed audio equipment. The installer crew knows their stuff for audio, but isn't the best at auto starts. more

They know their stuff 7/27/2005

These are some great guys! They really know their products and even know right off hand how things fit in most cars. Theyre pretty good at having things in stock when you buy it and if not it only takes a couple days to get to you Overall a great store more
