I've been using Safe Journeys since December and my dog begins wagging her tail as soon as we pull-up in front of the business. John comes to the curb to get her and she is always very excited to see him. When I pick her up in the evening, she seems very happy and watches (with a forlorn look) John or Craig as they walk back into the house. I've been inside and the dogs are all very happy and playful. In short, I'm very pleased with the treatment of my four-legged friend and would heartily recommend Safe Journeys. Check out the photos, they are very consistent with what I saw. more

When we came to pick up our dogs, we 5/22/2012

When we came to pick up our dogs, we found them happy and not lost weight and were content. This would not have been possible at a caged facility. John was especially helpful and kind in showing our youngest, shy dog extra love and attention. more

I was a first time boarder and they were very thorough and delicate with me, without holding me hand throughout the ordeal. Needless to say, we have boarded with them a few times since are are practically pros! Thanks for everything. more

Our dog Zoe, is like a kid in a candy 2/29/2012

Our dog Zoe, is like a kid in a candy store here. And we as owners are comforted knowing she is cared for by the professional and loving staff. We started using Safe Journey after a very sad, scary incident at another facility and hearing about Safe from some people at the dog park. We gave it a try and it has been worth every extra penny since. The staff is so attentive towards all of the dogs, even letting us call to 'talk' to her so we know she's ok. We love this place. Zoe loves this place. It's a great, great location to have your dog be cared for. more

Really Convenient 2/14/2012

I really like this place. Coming from the South, we can drop off the 'kids' on our way to Portland Airport and Pick them up on the way home. It's convenient for us, and they seem to love the vacation too! more

Priceless 2/1/2012

I will just put it out there plain and simple, I'm a high needs client. I travel a lot, with lots of changes to my schedule, I always need to change my reservations. I'm not sure how they do it, but they treat me with respect and credit any changes for future use and its easy breezy. Most importantly, my dog loves it. My dog charges in like he owns the place every time and forgets I'm even there. I don't even need to say goodbye, my dog is already off with his friends and forgets about me...lol but that's why I take him there, so he has a good time. and he always does. Before safe journey, I was always a wreck when I traveled because I worried so much. I don't fret a bit anymore. That is priceless. more

Excellent Care 1/17/2012

What a fantastic place. We have taken our dogs here for several years and they take excellent care of them. Our dogs are like our children and we feel comfortable traveling and leaving them at Safe Journey because we know they will be taken care of, snuggled with and loved on while we are gone. Highly recommend this place. more

    Serving our local community's need for top of the line crate-free boarding, Safe Journey is the best in the business when it comes to caring for animals, people and the Earth. That's why we operate with social and economic justice and environmental sustainability in mind at all times.


    How it works:


    You make a reservation to bring your dog to us during check-in hours. Your pet spends the day and night at our comfortable Victorian home, with us and other dogs. For your dog's protection, our home is climate-controlled and our yard is pesticide-free. We care for an average of 5 dogs during the week and average of 9 dogs on weekends. During the Holidays we care for 15-19 dogs.


    While in our home, your pet enjoys frequent contact with care providers, petting, play time, and more. We follow all your instructions regarding your pet's feeding, medications and appropriate behavior. Dogs are free to roam 1400 square feet of space. Outdoors they can bask in the sun on our back deck and play in our fully secure and fenced yard.


    We are a family business and incorporate our lives into our work. This means we sometimes have to safely arrange the pets while we run to the post office, to the grocery store and other errands. All dogs need to be family raised dogs that get along great with people and other dogs.
