People beware of this place!!! I brought my dog in for ""doggie day care"", minus the care.... I brought him back in the next morning as soon as they opened to see the vet, because my dog would not eat or drink and he would scream if you touched his face. I informed them that something must have happened to him while he was there the day before. One of the employees told me my dog played rough that morning with Dr. Garner's dog, but that she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. The vet tech called me later that morning to ask if they could sedate him to do an exam since he wouldn't let anyone near his face; he told me Dr. Garner suspected that he had developed some sort of muscle myositis in his face, which is common in the Boxer breed. I informed him AGAIN that his symptoms were caused by something that happened the day before when he was there for day care. Dr. Garner called me back about 10 minutes later and tells me that my dog's jaw is broken. I immediately drove up there while he was still sedated and Dr. Garner showed me exactly where the break was, which was about 2 inches from the back of his throat. I told him that I would have been better off just keeping him home, and he replied with ""I feel like you're trying to blame us for something YOUR DOG DID."" Uh... hello.. my dog didn't just break his own jaw! Dr. Garner was the rudest, most condescending ""vet"" I've ever dealt with! The employee that had earlier told me my dog was playing rough with Dr. Garner's dog had now changed her story and said she had made a mistake, and that my dog had actually stayed in his kennel all day except for a walk on the leash. Never mind the fact that I now know I was paying for a service I wasn't getting. Someone there knew what happened to my dog, yet were too concerned about covering their a** than just taking responsibility for what happened ON THEIR WATCH. If I didn't care about the well being of my dog then I would let him run loose in my neighborhood. Dr. Garner was more than happy to charge me an arm and a leg for the surgery though, and it wasn't until my husband met me up there and mentioned ""lawsuit"" that Dr. Mooney spoke up and said they would do the surgery at no cost. Please... As if I would have any trust in you to take care of my dog at this point.\r
My dog had the surgery he needed with another wonderful vet, and I think the most disturbing part about this is when he did the x-rays he told me that the only other time he had seen a dog's jaw broken like this was when a dog had been kicked in the face by a HORSE! He said this break was definitely caused by blunt force. I wonder if Safari will still plead the fifth now?? I'll probably never know what happened to my Brody boy that day..
