Great lunch spot! 10/18/2007

I LOVE the natural foods Co-op! A friend told me about it a couple months ago and I decided to check it out for lunch. At first I was a little intimidated with all of the choices in the deli, but I found that everything I tried was delicious. It is also good for you, they use all organic vegetables and prepare a variety of health conscious foods. The sandwiches, soups, deli salads, baked good and buffet are all great. I am particularly fond of the buffet on certain days - today they had pumpkin beef stew, grilled chicken, saffron rice?, spinach phyllo pie, and the salad bar is great. I like the cabbage ramen salad and garlic salad in the deli. I usually get a sandwich with: clover sprouts, grated carrot, tomatoe, red onion, jack cheese, sunflower seeds, cream cheese and avocado (i'm not vegetarian i just love their veggies). I hear the panini's are good too - haven't tried one yet. I love that I can get great high quality food on the go - exactly what I have been looking for! Now I eat there at least three days a week and want to start taking some of their cooking classes. Pros: High quality food on the go Cons: Parking can be difficult around noon more

sac's jewel 12/31/2005

I live close to the Natural Foods Co-Op and go often. The customer service has always been good, the people are friendly, and I love that I can find select items that have proven difficult to locate in desolate Sacramento, like Sharfen Berger Chocolate bars for baking, Hazelnut Oil, and Weleda products. They also have a great selection of body products. This is a great store, prices are high, but organic healthy food stores are always pricey, and I only wish the place was bigger with more great stuff, o but parking sucks, park on the street. more

Natural Food, Natural Environment 12/26/2005

This store makes healthy eating easy. I'm a young adult who is use to purchasing junk food and eating fast food. The Sac Co-Op makes it simple for me to find snacks that are healthy, free of trans fat and preservatives. The deli is a good alternative to fast food. The regular prices on items can be a little steep, but there are often sales. I especially like to buy different varieties of Yogi Tea and Cranberry Juice. This store also has a large corner for supplements. There are many things here that you would never be able to find in a chain supermarket. PROS: Good Sale Item Prices, Healthier Snacking CONS: Steep Regular Prices more

Awesome Deli; Great information in the Health & Beauty Department 5/28/2005

This is my all time favorite deli... not a traditional deli. They have all sorts of yummy pasta salads, tofu combinations, organic fruit salad, veggie salads, and more. It is excellent ~ a MUST TRY!! Their is a "Health & Beauty Aids" Department in the store and the employees are extremely knowledgable on many herbs and supplements... they've given me a lot of great advice & recommendations over the years. more

Great Natural Food Store 5/26/2005

I have been going to this store since I was sixteen when members worked for their discounts. Today you pay a membership fee and get your discount that way. However, you don't have to be a member to shop there. The store is clean and has samples most of the time. There is a learning center adjacent to the store. Parking is not good but worth the trouble with large selection of organic fruits and vegetables. A bulk section to live for and health and beauty, vitamins section with knowledgeable staff that care. PROS: One of a kind store for natural and alternative health needs CONS: Parking is not good -- lacks space. more

AHEM 11/3/2002

Although this local health food store can boast well stocked grocery shelves, their food leaves much to be desired. Sadly the only thing consistent about the service is how hit and miss it is. I will save the horror store for another time, but suffice to say I would rather dine on a can of campbells soup than ""enjoy"" Alhambras prepared foods. more
