Incredibly expensive!! 9/13/2010

I've gone to this vet for many years... time to find a new one.\r My cat had some issues that required minor surgery. They wanted to keep him 3 days (it would have been pushing $1,000!!). I let him stay overnight. My bill was $700. They filled him up with so many drugs he couldn't even see straight. They wanted me to drug him for a week. I threw away the pills when we got home, and he was fine. He certainly didn't need to stay 2 extra nights.\r \r This is the 3rd time this vet has recommended the most expensive treatment for my pets. They think you have an endless pocketbook.... absolutely no sense of how it will effect the owner to have to shell out $700 to $1,000. more

I have been a client/friend of Sacajawea for years. I cannot say how much they have meant to me and my family. I have lost 3 dogs over the years and they have been by my side through it all. They cried with me and hugged me. I love all the doctors there and although Dr. Harris set the standard and he is leaving, Dr. Morlan is a fantastic doctor and person and my dogs love her and so do I! They are a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for here. I would never go to another vet....ever. more

Experienced Vets who love their patients! 7/13/2010

Dr. Morlan is the absolute best in all aspects of vet care. I can't even begin to describe how caring and compassionate she is including the entire staff. They truely love their patients. They are very experienced and the care is of the highest quality. For those who complain about the $49 office visit being higher than other vets, it actually isn't that much higher and very competitive with other full service experienced vets. You won't get the experience and quality care at a lower budget clinic. If you can't afford to take care of your pet's basic wellness then you should not have one. Also pet insurance is a must nowadays. Any dog owner would be a fool to go without. They also board pets while you're on vacation which is much smaller and quieter than a large kennel.Much less stress for your pet. They also offer one Saturday a month vaccination clinic where you do not have to pay the office visit. Give them a call to find out when the next one is. I've been taking my cats here fo more

Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets is the best 9/26/2009

Go Elsewhere 9/4/2009

I can't recommend this clinic. It's quite expensive particularly for the quality of care. Dr. Harris is competent, but he's taking less of an active role in the clinic and I haven't been impressed with the other doctors I've seen. The young one spouts her vet school lectures without seeming to even hear my questions. She also performed a traumatic euthanasia on my cat with cancer, obviously it was painful and not peaceful for my poor girl, then it took TWO WEEKS to get her cremated remains back. I'll never get those last images of my cat writhing in pain out of my mind. I won't be back to Sacajawea. more

Great Staff 7/4/2009

Very friendly staff. A bit over priced. Office visit is 49 dollars. They would not vaccinate without making us pay the office visit each time we took our dog in. Gets expensive when you just need to finish the round of shots for a healthy dog. Prescriptions/flea control meds are pricey as well, best to get the prescription order and buy online. more

Top-Notch Care for Our Cats 7/6/2007

We have taken our cats to see Dr. Harris and the other doctors at Sacajawea for 13+ years. We have consistently received compassionate and first-rate health care for our cats, who have been treated for everything from routine exams and shots to chronic renal failure and other issues associated with geriatric cats. The doctors treat our cats in the same manner they would their own -- with the absolute highest regard to the health and well-being of the cats. Dr. Harris in particular provides practical, caring advice that shows his many years of experience in treating animals. He always suggests starting with the simple, practical solutions and saves extreme treatments as a last resort. He was an absolute life-saver with our old cat with chronic renal failure, and in my opinion, he is the sole reason she lived a relatively normal and happy life until almost age 21. I trust Dr. Harris completely and feel my cats could not be in better hands than with him and the other doctors at Saca more

DO NOT USE!!!! 3/27/2007

For years we used this clinic and thought that it was a good one. After several things happened, I know this is not true. I had to have a cat de-clawed - it was either that or get rid of him. Many years after the surgery, another Dr. told me it was done very poorly. 9 out of 10 of the nails had grown back some, causing pain for my cat that he probably lived with for a long time. Dr. Harris did that surgery. To do something so incompetently is unacceptable. When my veterinarian called Dr. Harris to speak with him about it, he was rude and arrogant to her. I believe the new Dr. because I worked at her veterinary hospital for several years. She is honest and caring and wouldn't make something like that up. Our family also had a large, old dog that needed to be euthanized due to old age. It was on a Friday. The procedure went well, however, over the weekend a friend of mine had to do some work in the building and told us that the dog was lying dead in a cage where he had been since that Fr more

ABSOLUTE BEST PET HEALTH CARE!! 9/7/2006

We actually see Dr. Carson, but the whole office is great. I have never doubted that they love all animals as if they were their own. I trust my animal's life with this amazing group of people. Thank you Sacajewea Heathcare for Pets! Pros: Flexible hours, caring staff, ability to drop in and say hi for a snack or a weigh-in Cons: price is a little higher than some vets, BUT you definately get what you pay for more

They are a very caring vet. They call you a couple of days after seeing your pet just to make sure they are doing okay. They also send you little postcards to remind you that your pet is due for shots or just a check up. Pros: friendly, caring, informative more

The Best Vet Ever! 11/17/2005

When my 10 year old pit bull wasn't feeling well we took him into Sacajawea after my parents told us about them. We had before taken him to other vets and were not impressed! But, here you have the best staff that actually cares about your pet and is very knowledgable! They were great about everything and were very reasonably priced! Needless to say we have found the vet we will be taking Levi to from now on! PROS: Great Staff, Priced Fair, Nice location! CONS: more

Vet 3/3/2005

This is an excellent veterinary office. The people are kind to humans and animals. My family and I have used them for years, for both dogs and cats, even a hamster once. We?ve even rescues a couple of dogs through them that others did not want. I would drive miles to use their service. more

Great Family Pet Veterarian 2/24/2005

Sacajawea Vet Clinic has been our family veterinarian for the past 15+ years. They have treated all of our pets for things ranging from vaccinations to major surgeries. We have been very pleased with the staff and the owners of the clinic. Dr. Lee Harris is a great resource and an amazine veterinarian. We highly recommend this veterinarian clinic for all of your family pet needs. They treat an array of animals ranging from birds, cats, dogs, and rabbits. Their prices are comparable and they are truly devoted to helping animals. PROS: Highly qualified veterinarians, friendly staff, and proven track record...I would recommend them to any of my friends and family. CONS: None more
