Salmon to die for 11/28/2007

The service is wonderful to the point that it can't really be beaten. It's like your at a close friend's home, eating dinner with the family. All of the food on the menu is excellent (I can't find anything I wouldn't live off of any day). But, the chef has a peculiar ability to work with salmon like nobody else I have ever met. There are only 3 things on the menu with salmon. The salmon Kabob, the Saffron Seafood (which I understand is the chef's own recipe), and the Salmon Parmesan (which I have yet to see anywhere else). In all of these dishes, the salmon has a texture similar to butter: it melts in your mouth (almost literally). It's got a flavor that unless you're lucky enough to have an uncle who owns a fishing lodge in alaska, you'll probably never taste anywhere else. In the Saffron Seafood, this is added to a sauce that I can't even describe (you've got to try it to believe it), this food should be illegal. Not everyone is lucky enough to live so close to such great food (not to mention service). I've never tasted anything better, and I doubt you have either. Try this place and you'll be hooked for life, i guarantee it. Pros: Best salmon you've ever tasted, excellent service, convenient location Cons: If only they had a bigger sign... (It's in the Safeway parking lot on 104th and 208th) more

Great and Original Cuisine!!! 11/25/2007

We went to Sabrina's International last Friday night. We didn't expect too much as this restaurant sits in a strip mall. To our surprise, the experience was exceptional! From the start, the seating was quick, the lighting was pleasant, and the placed looked very clean. The owner came out to greet us. We received good recommendations for the appetizer, wine, and entree. I normally do not like tabbouli, but on the owner's recommendation, we tried it. It was the best that I had ever tasted. Very fresh, and tasty. We also had the hummus and the babaganoush. However, you spell them, they were delicious. I felt like I was back on the mediterranean. The entrees came soon after the appetizers. The pasta dish featured a delicious and original red sauce. I had the kabobs. Of course I also had some of my wife's pasta! Both were incredible. I am hungry writing this. The food came hot, the ingredients were fresh. We then had the tiramisu with the Turkish coffee. The combination was to die for. It was so good. I had never had Turkish coffee, but the combo was excellent! Throughout the dinner, the service was quick and impeccable. This will be a regular place for us. We felt like we were part of the family! Pros: Excellent in every way, and affordable. Cons: Doesn't look like much from the outside, the best inside. more

Exceptional Mediterranean-Style Food in Kent/Renton Area 10/12/2007

The food is delicious. The flavors are authentic and subtle with light notes of garlic, lemon, etc. native to that region. Pros: Fine food, easy access and parking, great service more

Mediterranean food with flair and superb service 8/26/2007

It is clear to me why people from Olympia and Lynnwood would brave the congested freeways of the Seattle Metro area to make it out to Kent for Sabrina's, a culinary breath of fresh air compared to ho-hum, ""ate there, drank that"" environment of Seattle. Not only were we greeted and waited on by Masood Ahawi, the friendly catering manager of Sabrina, but other family members who have been running this four-month old restaurant came to our table and made us feel at home. Their chicken kabobs are served the way I remembered then in the Med -- not on a skewer, delicately marinated and grilled yet tender and juicy -- but the risotto was so delicious, I was tempted to lick the plate (they did say to make ourselves at home). Though I am allergic to most dessert foods, I took a small taste of the samples of lavendar-infused ice creams, and was tempted to eat them without a care for my health -- they were irresistable! If that was all, I would already recommmend this restaurant purely on the food for value and excellent service. BUT wait, there's more! Bellydancing on Saturday night is on the bill, featuring most of Seattle's best middle eastern dance performers. Mr. Ahawi also indicated that there will be promotion of other kinds of music, so if you are a world music lover, that is indeed good news. The restaurant is equipped with a sound system for live music, and is spacious enough for live entertainment. Your trip into Kent for Sabrina's will not disappoint! more

Excellent food, service, and belly dancing, too! 8/26/2007

The food at Sabrina's is flavorful, cooked to perfection, and artistically presented. There were four in our party, and we ordered the chicken, beef, and lamb kabobs, which were devine. Each of our dishes was served with a delicious risotto and tasty vegetables. I noticed that there were vegetarian dishes and pastas, too; something for everyone. The honey-lavender ice-cream was to die for! To make our experience even more pleasurable, the service was top-notch!!! We were greeted as soon as we entered and made to feel appreciated throughout the entire evening. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! Although we live north of Seattle, my husband and I plan to return soon! Pros: Excellent food, service and belly dancing more
