My friend and I went there for a late dinner on budget and we came out satisfied! The food tasted wonderful and the service was great. Def will go back soon.

Good food but a gloomy atmosphere 11/21/2011

A fan of mideast foods I was eager to try this restaurant. And on 2 separate occasions I went there with friends. What kept me going was the food was good - not the best ever - but quite good. What kept me from returning since then is the rather shabby decor, and a dull, even somewhat sad, ambiance. Don't know what it is about the place - but they really need a physical make-over. They should hire a designer & Decorator and invest in a total makeover. Otherwise you'll come out feeling kind of sad... more

Nice lunch buffet 10/26/2010

The luncheon buffet was cheap at $10 per person, and the food was quite fresh and tasty. The chicken was very tender, with interesting seasonings. It's kind of a strange layout where you come in through the bar and through this little hallway, but the dining room itself is bright and pleasant. Some reviewer complained about the ""dead"" atmosphere--get a life! I'd rather pay lower prices than have amazing decor. This place merits a return visit very soon! more

Great Service 8/4/2010

I am very much impressed with the good service from the staff as well as the manager at the Sabra Restaurant located in Newton Center. The food was delicious with the taste from middle east. I am very much satisfied. more

Waste of a good location 2/27/2010

I'm shocked at how bad my dinner at Sabra was. We ordered hummus and the deluxe platter to try a bit of everything. Add a few drinks and our bill was over $70! It would be okay if the hummus tasted better than grocery store brand or the platter was anything close to deluxe. The lamb and chicken were overcooked and under-seasoned. The entire plate had no flavor. The place is big but poorly laid out and decorated. When the CD that was playing ended I had to go ask the manager to put something back on because it became painfully quiet. It was an all-together unfortunate experience. Pros: Fast Service Cons: Food, Price, Atmosphere more

SUPERB 12/28/2008

SABRA AT THE CORNER OF NEWTON CENTER HAS THE GREATEST FOOD AND SERVICE. I HAD A GREATEST EXPERIENCE HERE WITH 100% SATISFACTION. THE FOOD WAS READY IN 10 MINUTES OR EVEN LESS WITH THE GREAT SERVICE OF STAFF AND MANAGEMENT... THE BACKGROUND MUSIC WAS AMAZING. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ""SABRA"". Pros: SUPERB more

HORRIBLE!!!! 12/9/2008

Sabra is bar none the WORST ""middle eastern"" restaurant I've ever been to. My husband is middle eastern and we both agree this place is a dive. The decor is tacky, the place was dead and the food was AWFUL! Cheesy top 40 music from the 80's blaring in the background. UGGH!\r \r The hummus came with the weirdest decoration of radishes and onions placed randomly inside the dish. It looked weird and the hummus tasted canned. \r \r The chicken kebab sandwich had MUSTARD on it!!!!! Are you kidding me???? MUSTARD. \r \r The falafel was hard and had a pungent taste. \r \r The worst place ever!!!!\r \r Now if you want REAL hummus and extremely good food go to Cafe Barada in Cambridge. Amazingly friendly owner and the food is amazing ever time. We live in Newton Centre and drive there all the time. \r \r Had to try Sabra once.... NEVER AGAIN! Pros: Location Cons: Everything about it. more

Great Takeout 6/29/2008

We ordered the Baba Ganoush, Hommous, and Kafta Kebab dinner. It was all delicious and it was ready in ten minutes or less. All the food was super fresh and flavorful. We will be sure to order from here again. The manager was so sweet when we came in. We'll be sure to dine-in when we can. I think this place is a hidden gem in Newton Centre. Don't miss it! Pros: Great food, can get a table with no problem, great bar Cons: May be too big, they could have made do with a restaurant half the size more

A failed trip to the Middle East 3/24/2007

I am from the Middle East, and this food can be described as nothing but average, and expensive. With an individual portion of hummous for $6.75 and simple rice with eggplant for $13.95, you will see your bill climb easy to over $50 for a couple for sub-par food.\r \r If you're vegetarian don't expect much on the menu. If you're kosher or hallal, skip this place. You'll be saving yourself a major disappointment. more

good middleeastern food 11/29/2006

Nice quiet restaurant. Now the the food is really ""greek"" middleeastern, as opposed to foods such as couscous. more

great middle eastern cuisine 9/9/2002

Great service, delicious food! Their hommus is just about perfect, as well as every other dish! We were floored by the falafel, grape leaves, kibee, and tabouli, for some examples. Finished up a feast with some amazing baclava and Turkish style coffee. Can't wait to go back. more
