SK Builders, Inc

We've been building with SK builders in The Reserve at Carriage Gate now for over 8 months and our house is not near complete according to them. My closing has been changed 3 times and so has my walk-through. These people literally have no clue what's going on with our build. Two days ago we were set to close on the 18th, now it's the 27th. Who knows if it will change... We've had communication issues from the beginning and are never given a straight story on anything. So far they ordered the wrong banister, installed the wrong carpet, and installed the wrong back splash and all of that was just in the last week. They also left off part of our floor plan and failed to do several other things. Good thing we caught everything early enough for them to fix, which I'm sure has put us behind although they'd never admit it. The super of our subdivision got fired/quit last week, so now we feel completely lost. The new super started two days later but we still don't have his contact information and neither does anyone at SK apparently, since they cannot give it to us. Our dream home is slowly and painfully becoming a complete nightmare. Even through all of the screw ups, The lack of communication and concern for my family's well-being is by far the most disturbing and disappointing part of this whole process. We've asked numerous times to have a meeting with the owners and people's supervisors because things just have not gone the way they were supposed to. However each time we were pretty much denied that until my husband finally called Stan McAllister himself and spoke with him. Honestly, he was little to no help and really didn't seem to know what was going on. It's been over 3 months since then and things are still falling apart. Long story short, if you want a successful build you're going to have to go over to your job site every single day to make sure they do what they say they will do, what you ask for them to do, and what you are paying for. Honestly, at this point I would never advise anyone to go through the process that we've gone through. more

If there was a zero star I would select it. I want everyone that is considering SK Builders to read this and think about the pain and suffering they are going to endure throughout the process. From top to bottom, there is no one in this organization that will treat you with respect. For a company that advertises on "HIS" radio, they really need to go and pray about the treatment of their customers. We have been under contract with SK since January, and are supposed to close tomorrow at 10am. Unfortunately, here it is the last day, and we are still not sure if that will indeed happen. Oh, and don't expect any of their "realtors" that work for them from McAlister Realty to work past 5pm to answer phone calls and represent you as their client. It is all a scam to get you from both ends; profits on the construction, and profits from the purchase. The communication is non-existant and the coordination is very poor. Expect to see work done and then redone over and over again. Luckily my wife and I have a strong relationship, because the amount of time I have wiped her tears through the process of building her dream home has put a pain in my heart. We are not even excited to move in any more, just want this process over with. I can assure you that some of the reviews below are fake, and I know that because they do a good job of reaching out to people for their review, following poor reviews from those same people. I regret every removing my initial post on here months ago, because the process has not improved a bit, and I felt bad for the people that contracted with SK following that removal and don't know the whole truth. Just drive through any SK neighborhood and ask anyone and you will hear the same story: "this builder cannot get you closed when you are supposed to, they will continually make mistakes and not rectify them, they will not return phone calls nor communicate at all with you during the process". Just drive in a neighborhood and ask any homeowner how their experience was... no one will say great more
