S W Steakhouse

I have been to SW about 6 times in the last 3 years. Coming from Chicago, I am very particular about steakhouses! SW will exceed all of your expectations. Not only are the steaks amazing! The seafood is excellent & the sides are creative & delicious. Service is always Stellar. Overall, a great dining experience. I reccomend SW to all my friends going to Vegas !!!! The title speaks for itself! My wife and I made plans on our date night. We heard SW was a must go!! With short notice, we called and made a reservation, they gave us a 9:30 dinner time which was perfect. We arrived @ 8:45, hungry, told us they had a table available and seated us right away. We couldn?t have had a better seating, we could see the amazing waterfall shows and be on the inside. Our waiter couldn?t have been better. Very friendly and prompt service. My wife and I ordered some cocktails to start, along with appetizers, then the filets and other side dishes. When my filet was served, it was cooked too much and was too dry. Without any questions my filet was taken back and within TWO minutes, I had the PERFECT filet. The funnel cake with strawberries was amazing!! The bill was on the high side?? over $250.00 but well worth it!!! You get what you pay for. We?ll be back again??..DEFINATLEY!! We are celebrating a birthday, after confirming on the phone as well as when we arrived that they bring out a soufle with a candel on it for the biryhday boy, they bring out the check without any soufle. We were so dissapointed because it was suppose to be a surprise. Also, we were sitting outside on a cold night and the heat lamps run out of gas, if that wasn't annoying enough the food was not the best we have had and after we complained to their manager, they guy kept bringing up the fact that he didn't charge us for the soufle that never came out. Wonderful menu, generous portions and origional specials the evening we went. The staff was very attentive without being annoying. The menu is a'lacarte but resonable prices considering the sides are portioned generously enough to share. We were seated promptly which was important to us as we had show tickets for the evening. I wouldn't go out of your way to get a table outside. Although the view of the large waterfall is beautiful it is loud and the Wynn hs a show after nightfall conisiting of scenes projected against this wall of water and 'puppets' that appear, but it is really lame! The water and the lighting is nice though and can easily be seen from an inside table. Pros: generous portions Cons: doesn't have much to do with SW- but the Wynn show is really lame more

Ahhhh...VERAGE!\r \r First time I went there the place was open a month, and it was fantastic. The seafood platter was tops in the city, and steak was great. I've been back since, and frankly, it was not good at all. So disappointing.\r \r \r [P]\r \r I went with 2 other guys (we work for the UFC, so we're there all the time), and 2 of us ordered medium rare, and one ordered medium. Everything was reversed, and considering it took forever to serve us, we didn't even send it back. Two of us split the medium rare, and it wasn't even that good.\r \r [P]\r \r I was touting it to everyone after the first occasion, but never again. \r \r I mean, with Daniel Boulud across the hall, and places like Jean-George Prime, N9ne, Strip Steak, and countless others, there is absolutely no reason to go here. Plus, the Wynn has so many great options...too bad this isn't one of them.\r \r Right now, David Burke is the best place going in Vegas, for my money. Best steak I have ever eaten, and it's not even a steak house. Pros: Cool water feature to stare at, and good seafood platter Cons: Bad service, average steak, and overpriced in the end. First, I want to make it clear that I sat at the bar, so I can't comment on the service or waitstaff... however the bartenders were friendly, and attentive.\r \r Honestly though, the food was remarkable. Maybe it was the way the stars and planets were aligned, but I had the best steak ever! Bone in Ribeye- perfectly seared on the outside, perfectly tender on the inside. Side of creamed spinach was spot on, but maybe on the small side. Arrived for a 5:30 PM Reservation at 5:30 PM and were made to wait along with several other customers for 15+ minutes. Once we were seated, we were given a nice table outside with a view of the water fall as requested. We had the Bibb Lettuce salad, which was on the boring side. I would have expected ""some"" flavor from the dressing. For the main course I had a Filet (ordered medium) with the Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and Daily Vegetables with Butter Sauce. Both sides were absolutely amazing, the steak was overcooked, which is surprising in a thick cut filet. Overall, the flavor of the steak was fantastic and the sauces were pleasantly tasty. Our dessert was one of the best I have ever tasted; Crepes Suzette Crepes. It was fantastic!!! The one thing that I would say could use improvement - they need to either stop the tag-team wait staff method, or communicate with one another more effectively. For instance we were asked if anyone had explained the sauces for our steak and again later asked if anyone had explained the deserts. Also, before cutting into our steaks, two servers asked us back to back if they were prepared to our liking and then didn't return again until we were on our last bite, which was too late to correct the overcooked $50 piece of meat. They did remove the desert from the bill and did offer to replace the steak. Overall, I would go back. Pros: Beautiful Surroudings, Dessert, Sides Cons: Tag-team wait staff not on top of things more

There are many positive things to say about SW. The service was very attentive despite being very busy. The quality of the ingredients was top knotch and the ambience is unbeatable. However the reason I won't go back is the steaks were all scorched black. I certainly appreciate a well-caremelized meat, but after one bite of the burned steak you more

This was my favorite restaurant on our last trip(last week) the service is amazing. The wine expert (sommelier?) was very helpful with a wine list that could have been intimidating. He , our waiter, and the manager were all personally working toward our evening there being perfect and it was. My steak came out slightly overcooked from what I asked for and when I cut into it , the waiter immediatly saw that it wasnt 'perfect' and whisked it away and had them make me a new one and then didnt charge me for it! The restaurant was elegant but comfortable. This will be a place I will want to come back to again and again. Pros: amazing service, wonderful food, great wine! Cons: absolutely NONE more

The food at SW is above average, but not the best I've ever had. However sitting outside by the lake is a wonderful experience. I ordered filet thermidor. The lobster portion was delicious, and the steak was good but not the finest quality which is what I would expect. We did not order a dessert (the food was fairly heavy) so they brought us a small dessert for each person, mini chocolate cakes. Unfortunately they were dry and tasteless. My wife and I ate dinner at SW on their incredible patio. The lake and waterfall that sits beside the patio was amazing. My wife and I split a ceasar salad, which was average. The filet was probably the best steak I ever had, and the service was terrific. It is not a quiet restaurant, but it is still romantic. The food server said that many celebrities and professional athletes dined there regularly. We had a fabulous experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend SW Steakhouse to anyone who wants a great steak! Pros: Great service and wonderful food!!! more

My wife and I had dinner on a quiet Sunday (April 16th) night. Very comfortable, expensive restaurant. Food was fantastic but the service was below average. Our waitress never returned to the table after serving the main course. Our desert was ordered and forgotten, then the bill was incorrect and I had to inform the staff to add our corkage fee. I have to say that we were so annoyed by the time we left that we forgot how fantastic the food was. When I go out for dinner and have a $250 meal, I certainly shouldn't have to write a review about the poor service. The food was very good. I don't normally eat steak but they cooked it to perfection. I ordered the New York Cut Steak medium well, and it was just that. My steak was not only tender but tasty. The service was definitely one of the best in town and I have lived here for over 16 years. I am orginally from California where I grew up with great resturants and I definitely recommend this restaurants if you are a steak lover. Pros: service, food Cons: pricey more

Sitting outdoors by the waterfall is quite nice. Service is friendly, but not phenomenal as you might expect at the Wynn. The food was good, but my Filet Mignon was nothing extraordinary. Pros: Outdoor Seating more

Where is Eric? We went expecting our favorite chef and favorite dishes -- but he's gone, the menu's changed. The doofus in the kitchen clearly doesn' t get it. And the staff is clearly unhappy with the changes. They apologized throughout the evening about the new guy's bad food, lack of personality, and more, but I digress. \r \r I pray Vegas doesn't lose a talent like Klein -- he has heart, soul, and clearly his people loved him, I sure loved his food. And now am so sad I didn't go to SW more often when he was at the helm -- but I can definitely tell you I won't go back. Pros: Clearly the staff misses Chef Klein!
