I am a RN and only 25 years old. Roughly a year ago I developed severe muscle weakness. After several MD visits I had a Rheumatologist tell me he is ?95% sure I have an autoimmune disorder called polymiositis and the treatment is long term steroids and immunosuppressive medication.? With my health care background I was scared because I was fully aware of what complications can develop from such a long-term treatment.
