Maybe we went on a bad night but we had 8:00 reservations and were not seated until after 9:00. The staff didn't seem to really care very much about our wait when my husband inquired into the hold up. It wasn't until he finally asked for the manager that anyone acted interested. He did ofcourse by us a round of drinks but for an over an hour wait that still didn't seem like enough. I must say that the best part of the evening was our waiter. The food was average especially for the prices. You do get a good amount of food but again the flavor was mediocre at best. Ambiance was no better. I think they had every light in the place on. Not very romantic at all. Overall defiantely not worth a $250.00 bill! more

My wife and I dropped in without reservations. After a 20 minute wait listening to wonderful live jazz in the lounge, we were seated. Between our bar-drinks, my wife's filet and my lamb-chops, two sides, and a very nice bottle of wine, we were looking at a $200 tab including tip for fabulous service. Would do it again in a minute. The lamb was scrumptous and tender, my wife's filet was literally fork tender, and both were served PIPING hot! Many restaurants have not figured out what ""hot"" means. Only weak point was the flavoring to the side dishes. While well prepared and also served fresh and piping, they were a bit bland. Some inventiveness in spicing would go a long way. BTW, they do have high-chairs, but I am told that they are seldom used. Ruth Chris is more about marketing, flash, and gimmicky than food. My meal was just average. The food is unsophisticated and brutish. This is food for cavemen with suits. The tomato and onion salad was served on an overly huge tomato, with too-long strings of onion, vinegar and blue cheese. The combination does not pair well, and I ended up with a hard to eat acidy food fight in the mouth. Next comes the filet, which is served on an unnecessarily hot plate. The steak is seemly unseasoned, which I find primitive and unrefined. A too-large side of spinach is unnecessary and representative of Americas super-sized value mentality. The apple tart desert is another average too-large affair that was not much better then store-bought fare. Service was ok; my first cup of coffee was just warm, and uneven waits. Osacar was the waiter and he made you feel welcome. He welcomed you with open arms. I have never been treated to a place like this. He recommended the appetizers and the main dishes. Ruth's Chris Steak House offered the best tasting food I had eaten in a long time. Although pricey, you certainly get what you pay for with the romantic (and clean!) atmosphere and professional service from the hosts to the managers. The food was outstanding, and although we had to wait for our table (even though we had a reservation) the cozy, comfortable bar and excellent bartenders made the time go by. The steak here is absolutely fantastic. The place itself is nice too. But when it comes to steak, this is the best steak you are ever going to eat. Get the filet. more

I don't think Outback even deserves to be on the same list as Ruth's Chris, Shulas, etc. Ruth's Chris is unbelievable. One of the best steaks that I have had in my day, and I'm always out to find a great steak. more
