The food was pretty good. We had steak and lobster. But the prices were so unreasonable. It was THAT good! Pros: decent steak Cons: OVERPRICED

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/18/2013

Better make a reservation in advance because this steak house is ALWAYS full for dinner. Steaks are the best in the area and service is excellent. The sweet potato casserole is phenomenal. I hate sweet potatoes but this side dish is an absolute must try. more

Best steakhouse ever! 5/26/2012

Beats Morton's hands down. Parking is difficult unless you valet and people drive a bit crazy in that lot, BUT the filet and the sweet potatoes are AMAZING! Melt in your mouth delish! We will always drive to Ruth's Chris from Huntington before stopping at Morton's South Coast. Great service from well trained servers who always have great wine pairing suggestions! more

Good food 12/30/2009

I have had some dishes(crab cakes) that are very below average/ The filets are usually good thought and the sides are creative and tasty. Pros: Good Steaks, Good Sides Cons: Not always outstanding more

overall...a great night out!! 11/25/2009

The food is fantastic. The price is fair for what you get. My steak was cooked to perfection. The waiter was awesome. Overall...a great nigt out!! Pros: food is good more

Outstanding Steak 9/26/2009

My father got me started on Ruth's Chris, probably about 20 years ago... at the Scottsdale establishment. Ever since, I've been hooked, and have now got my wife hooked. This has been our ""go-to"" Ruth's for a number of years... however, they have since opened one in Anaheim that has a nicer ambiance. Perhaps due to the ambiance, the one in Anaheim delivers a touch more.. but both are amazing (as are all RC). Amazing steaks, simmering in butter. The broccoli au gratin is my favorite side, the the creme brulee is the best out there. five BIG 'ol stars! Pros: Outstanding steaks cooked in butter Cons: lemme know when you find one more

Great Food 1/2/2009

The lobster bisque is divine, filet mignon is tender and juicy, bread is delicious when hot and the bread pudding and creme brulee are one of the best! Quality of food and service are very consistent. I would dine here everyday if I could afford it. Enough said! Pros: Consistently Great Food and Service more

Look 4ward To This! 10/10/2008

The Location in Irvine NEVER disappoints. Ruth Chris' Steakhouse is well known for having\r nothing less than superior steaks. So rather than stating the obvious, let me tell you about this\r establishment. Each time I call to make reservations (whether 2pple or 10pple), I have never had\r an issue with securing a reasonable request. We ask for a specific server (Karen), and have always\r been accommidated. While making my reservations, their computer system indictated our\r server preference. In addition, the hostess made small talk about facts (our server obviously noted\r on our computer information). This is noting earth shattering, but because I am a relatively simple man,\r it is a pleasure to be singled out as an ""individual"" in Orange County. \r ** The Experience: We arrive and are greeted with a warm welcome. Seating is done promptly, but if there\r is a wait, the casual bar is a nice place for a ""starter-drink."" Once seated, the staff is extremely attentive, but not overbearing. A nice selection of Wine's, Martini's, or Spirit's to compiment the evening. The food is always served as ordered. My Wife is extremely specific regarding her orders, while I am simply a meat and potato's guy. Therefore, It is always a ""pleasure"" when HER food is served 100% correctly. As they are known for, the STEAKS are Perfect! Since I am a meat lover, I order 2 Entree's each time I visit. A STEAK and the LAMB CHOPS! What a treat~\r Appetizers & Salads: Good selection, yet routine. Served Perfectly\r MEATS: Steaks are beyond Superb / LAMB CHOPS Great (sometimes excessive fat, but that is rare)\r SIDES: Good selection and ordered individually. Large Servings will serve 2-3 each order.\r DESSERTS: Hard to choose, because 5 of 7, are the most incredible treats I've ever tasted.\r PRICE: Not Cheap, but if you know this, ""spoil yourself,"" this is the place to do it!\r The Experience is Excellent~Bring Friends, and leave a lasting positive impression.\r ***ONE of ORANGE COUNTY's BEST*** Pros: The Personal Service / Meat Preparation Cons: NOTHING SO FAR! more

GREAT STEAK 9/18/2008

This place is just fantastic...great food. However, the last time the cut of the steak wasn't up to par. Perhaps a little bit of pinch from economic strain. But at the least always a favorite place to eat. Pros: STEAK more

Good Food, Excellent Service 8/19/2008

I went to Ruth's Chris last night and had high expectations after reading a bunch of Yelp reviews. Before last night the last time I had been to Ruth's Chris (Beverly Hills) was years ago...and I remember the food tasting a lot better back then! We had the Summer Celebrations for Two ($89). I ordered the petite filet, medium rare. It came out medium to medium well. My husband ordered the same thing, and he got it medium rare. The filet was still tender, but I was disappointed that the cook didn't get the order right. The creamed spinach was a bit on the watery side as I read in reviews, so I expected it, but it was still good. The sauteed mushrooms were good, very flavorful. We really enjoyed the seafood gumbo. Had the bread pudding with whiskey sauce, which was yummy...definitely could taste the whiskey! Had that with with some good coffee. Our server, Ryan, was very attentive and pleasant. I would go back to this location, but next time I'd try the ribeye.\r \r Overall Experience = Good\r Food = Good (but not great)\r Service = Excellent Pros: Service Cons: Steak not always cooked to preference more

Best steak ever 7/28/2008

My husband and I had the best steak we've ever had here. The summer special is fabulous. The service is superb. The martinis and the wine were perfect. Quiet setting and upscale astmosphere. more

A disappointment 4/22/2008

I don't really like steak so I'm ultra particular about eating it. The steak at Ruth Chris is nice but I didn't think it had so much flavor. It was definitely not memorable. What was memorable was the service and the wine that our server selected. I wouldn't bother going to Ruth Chris if Flemings and Mortons is just 10 minutes away. I like Flemings the most out of all three. The steak is so much better but avoid going on thursdays if you don't like crouds. more

Great Food!!! 4/3/2008

If you like a good New York this is the place to go. The sides aren't half bad either. I would recommend the caeser salad, asparagus, and potatoes Au Gratin. Everytime I have been there the service has been excellent too. The food is worth the price but if you are looking for a romantic meal with a view this is not the spot. Pros: Food and Service Cons: Too many people more

Overpriced 2/11/2008

The food was pretty good. We had steak and lobster. But the prices were so unreasonable. It was THAT good! Pros: decent steak Cons: OVERPRICED more

Excellent Service and Food 8/15/2007

My husband and I went to Ruths Chris for our anniversary a few days ago and were pleased with both our food and our service. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms, cowboy ribeyes and the sweet potato casserole. Everything was delicious. I can't recommend enough the sweet potato casserole, it tastes just like dessert. Our waiter was Michael and he did an excellent job, he was very friendly and made our experience very enjoyable. Since it was our anniversary they gave us a complimentary creme brulee that was to die for. \r \r This was our second time going to Ruths Chris and it definitely won't be our last! Pros: excellent steak, great service, delicious desserts Cons: a little crowded inside more

Great steak, chic atmosphere 5/3/2007

I took my wife to Ruth's Chris for our anniversary. The server was polite and addressed us formally by our last name (apparently they memorize the reservation cards). Our steaks were prepared just as ordered, and my filet was tender as could be and quite large. Filet mignon, onion rings, and a Stella Artois-- what could be better? As the portions are large, there was almost no room for dessert. Even so, our server graciously served us a piece of chocolate cake gratis in celebration of our anniversary. I think our bill came to about $130. It was worth it. more

high quality steak! high quality service! 2/27/2007

My friend treated me here for the first time, and I was blown away. I ordered the filet mignon with potatoes and onion rings on the side, and it was pretty heavenly~ The service was really great... our waiter was really friendly and always accessible. We also ordered the creme brulee dessert, which I highly recommend (I am a creme brulee connoisseur). The menu is pretty pricey, especially if you order sides with your meal (they come a la carte), but it's definitely worth the experience and the quality of the meat. Pros: steak, ambience, service Cons: pricey more

Great steak! Great Service! 2/11/2007

Ruth's Chris is the place to go for great steak. My wife and I has been there for over 4 times, and we love it everytime. I really wish they have the Kobe steak more often (specials). I really love their Kobe, cooked to perfection. The first time my wife and I went there, she had the filet and I had the kobe. Before I took a bite of my steak, I had a piece of her filet. It melted in my mouth, and I was impressed. Then I had my kobe. This changed everything. I could not settle for any other steak except the kobe, where I loved it to the last bite. Now they're presenting the buffalo beef, which is not as good as the kobe, but great in its own. Pros: Kobe Steak Cons: not always having kobe steak (regular menu) more

Most exquisite place to dine 12/4/2006

I absolutely love Ruth's Chris! It was such an amazing experience from the food to the service. My boyfriend took me there for my birthday and I had very high expectations because of all the reviews I had read. Let me tell you: they were exceeded. I am one to rate service as important as the food, and their service was great. We did make reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of being there, and our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was unbelieveable. The steak is juicy, tender, and so flavorful (we had filet mignons) and their sides were so delicious as well (we had asparragus, onion rings, and au gratin potatoes). Definitely worth the pricey tab... definitely. Pros: Food, service Cons: Price more

UNQUESTIONABLY THE BEST STEAK IN AMERICA 11/18/2006

With out a doubt the butter sizzling Filet Mignon is the best steak around. The Lyonaisse (or however you spell it)potatoes aren't bad either. I've been to hundreds of steak houses across the country and still haven't found a better Filet. Now when I ask my 6 year old where she wants to go for dinner, she always says Ruth's Chris. Pros: Filet Mignon Cons: I eat there too much more

Definitely worth it... 5/18/2006

You have to keep in mind that you're going to a place that mainly attracts people who just don't want to go to a Sizzler or mediocre steak place...So don't be surprised with the price. You go here to experience excellent steak (yes, served sizzling in butter!) and excellent service. I've been here about 4 times, and haven't had a bad experience! The sides are good as well--try the mashed potatoes, yum! (they're a la carte so you pay extra) and wines are delicious! Creme brullee is a must for dessert! Dessert comes for free if it's your birthday :) First time I went here we didn't have reservations but was able to get some table by a bar and the service was just fantastic! They fixed it up as though it's one of those in the dining area. I will keep coming back here, FOR SURE! Pros: Service, Food, Dessert Cons: Could be crowded more
