Never disappoints! 9/29/2010

We went again this week and the place is always fantastic. You can't go wrong and this is usually true of any Ruth's Chris location in the country. However, the Charlotte location is the best! more

Great Experience! 9/27/2010

We'll make any excuse to come here, although we don't come as often as we'd like. Our waiters have been very attentive, and we always feel speical. We love the steak, of course. The filet is so good, we haven't been able to try other entrees. The au gratin sides are excellent, and the desserts are HUGE. You get a whole mini cheesecake... not just a slice! more

Best Steak! 8/10/2010

The best dinner i've had in a long time. This was my first time dining at Ruth's Chris. Starting with valet everyone made me feel so welcome. \r Now for the good stuff. We started with the calamari. Before i went everyone told me how great the calamari was. Well, it lived up to the hype. Fantastic!\r My friend had the filet and i had a ribeye. I love a great steak, and this was the best i ever had. loved everything and can't wait to go back.\r more

Best Steakhouse in Charlotte 7/27/2010

We dine at this Ruth's Chris on a regular basis. It's by far the best steakhouse in Charlotte. The filet is always melt in your mouth tender and it's always cooked just the way you ask. We have tried other restaurants in the area, but we keep coming back because they do everything right. \r \r We recommend the Filet ""oscar"" style for an entree; sweet potatoes, garlic butter mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach for sides; and the chocolate explosion and cheese cake for dessert. However, you really can't go wrong with any selection on their menu. Make sure to try the great wine as well! \r Pros: Unbelievable food, great service Cons: Valet takes the front parking spots more

Steak divine - don't go during Rest Week 7/23/2010

Restaurant week is not the ideal time to judge a place - it's packed, and waiters and chefs are harried. In normal circumstances, this is a very nice place. The tall, older blond head waiter was very nice when he thought we were not one of the masses of people descending for Restaurant Week. When not, he was obviously full of contempt. It's silly - be nice regardless - and do not laugh in your sleeve at customers, because if they like it they'll be back for real - or just be nice because you should be. Dessert was hurled onto the table - it was odd, but again - Restaurant Week. The back waiter was very conscientious and polite. Prices aren't that scary - one saves about half with Rest Week, though I'm sure there are customers who purchase more expensive wine. You can expect to pay $60 normally for a full meal minus drinks. (Sorry for talking brass tacks - but Ruth's Chris is cheaper and better than most other high-star steak places.) The cheaper wine is not the best and is in smaller portions - spring a few more dollars, ask for the wine steward's help, and get a bottle. The food is divine. The meat was better than Del Friscos at its best time (not Rest Week). The sides and dessert were good but not memorable. The steak was the best ever tasted. Seriously very good. It came sizzling in butter on a hot plate, and the temperature, tenderness, and taste were perfect. Pros: Steak is best ever tasted Cons: Waitstaff needs to serve ""masses"" as well as elite more

A-MAZ-ING 7/17/2010

We went to Ruth's for the 2nd time recently, and were blown away again! Last time, we saw a special - we went for the 3 course dinner before 6:30, and the selection was great. I guess we are filet snobs, and they were PERFECT. The chocolate cake was rich and silky. Our server was great, with perfect timing. Highly recommended! Pros: Tender Filet, Exceptional Service, Variety more

Great steak 7/9/2009

I love the filet. It is always cooked just right and a great way to treat yourself after a long week at work. Just thinking about it again is making my mouth water. The service is amazing and the staff treats you like a king. The restaurant is in a great location in Southpark. Pros: Great food, great service and atmosphere Cons: Expensive but well worth it when treating yourself more

Fabulous Dining Experience!!! 7/7/2009

I had an absolute fantastic experience while dining at this location. The steak and sides were absolutely wonderful. yummy! I can say the same with the customer service and attention we received. The dining room was full of large groups, but our table of two was treated with the same attentiveness as the parties of 30. Pros: Steak is out of this world Cons: Quiter nightlife location more

Rating a Ruth's Chris...is that even necessary? 4/11/2007

Aw...the venerable steak chain. One of many in bustling CLT but this one is worthy to note. When it comes to steak, these guys have it figured out. After eating at The Palm, Morton's, Sullivan's, Capital Grille, Beef & Bottle, and a few other premium restaurants that serve steak on their menu, Ruth's Chris is the clear winner. If you think all high end steak restaurants are the same, think again. Here, you're greeted by warm hostesses who immediately make you feel invited. Usher yourself into the cocktail lounge and you'll meet some of the friendliest bartenders in CLT. Robin and Michael are both worth introducing yourself to. If you're by yourself, you know how much you appreciate a warm and friendly bartender. The steaks and lamb are served to perfection and always have the best carmelization. Their sides are great and their warm bread plate pleasing. I haven't had their seafood but it looks divine. Trust me on this one, as a connoisseur of good steak, it's worth the price and you'll be happy you went. Pros: Beautifully prepared prime beef, great staff, great menu Cons: It is expensive but in life, you get what you pay for more
