Rumford Pet Center 10/13/2010

I am interested in speaking with anyone who bought a puppy from Rumford. I am going to check out the puppies with the intention to buy. I volunteer for a dog rescue group in RI that rescues these dogs and educates the public about the horrors of puppy mills, the millers who sell the dogs to pet stores, and the stores that sell the dogs knowing that they come from mills and not reputable breeders. If the information I gather from my visit to Rumford does in fact find these dogs are from puppy mills, I plan to protest the Warwick location on Saturday 10.16.10. This is also the day that a motorcade and candlelight vigil will be held in NY for the 93 mill dogs that were gassed by an Amish farmer in his makeshift gas chamber. more

Don't buy a puppy from a pet store 9/20/2008

My sister-in-law bought a puppy from there in 2007 and he has been sick every since she got him. He has more then one health issue. Breeders who really care about there puppies want to know who is buying there puppies and that the person buying the puppy understand the breed they are buying so there is no surprises down the road. Purebreed dogs are not exempt from ending up in a shelter. When getting a pet it should be a lifetime commitment. more

Got our puppy here. 3/24/2006

While we did get our puppy here, spur of the moment decision, I do think they are a bit overpriced with their animal. I also found out after we bought our little guy that they do not get their animals from local breeders but from puppy mills. The staff also isn't so great. We have been lucky though that our pup is a healthy one. They have everything you can ever want, but be prepared to pay the prices. more

Well-stocked pet store 12/26/2005

Rumford Pet Center has supplies for all types of pets. They also carry fish, puppies, and pets in between. I enjoy visiting the pet center and have bought supplies there. However, the staff seems a little impersonal. Perhaps they are kept too busy to answer questions. They don't have quite the range of products that you would see in a Petco, but they also don't have the service that you might see in a small local pet store such as RI Pet and Aquarium. more

Lots of great pet items 8/20/2005

Rumford Pet Center has everything you will need for your pet. They carry food for all animals, toys, beds and medication. In the fish area, they will test your fish tank water and tell you what you need to do in order to get it to the optimal level. They do sell dogs and cats there and they appear to be in good health. more
