Not up to the hype 8/7/2008

Based on a plethora of favorable reviews, I tried this restaurant a few times and was very disappointed. The hummus was nothing special and many of the dishes were too sweet, too weird, and/or too exotic for my taste. I generally like ethnic food of all sorts, but this place just did not do it for me. Pros: cozy atmosphere Cons: food more

Editorial review from GrubHub 6/29/2008

The food was great. The portions are perfect for a large meal. The salmon was flavorful, juicy and was accompanied by a good side salad. My only bad experience was the Caprese had too much pepper on it. I will definitely be eating here again. more

Excellent Middle Eastern Cuisine 8/12/2007

I've never been, and wish I had gone sooner! I really enjoyed the friendly service, the pistachio hummus is addictive, and the food savory and delicious. Definitely coming back to try the other dishes! more

Jumpin Jive and a Whale Of a Baklava 7/2/2007

If I were a painter, I'd paint butterflies. If I were a poet, I'd rhyme with ease. If I were a gardener, I'd hurt my knees, but it I were a kabob, I'd be at P's. G That is. P G's. Or PG rather. Where was I? PG would have worked as well. My teeth hurt. Anyway, this place is really good. Try the salad. It's HUGE!!!! more

Amazing Feast! 11/4/2006

We showed up on an off night, and the owners set out a feast for the entire table. Platters of salad, baba ganoush, yogurt, rice, cherry rice, lamb, beef, chicken, salmon, etc. etc.! All with wonderfully subtle seasoning. It was all of the highest quality, and we left feeling we had had a special experience! Definitely try this restaurant! more

a sweet little find 6/7/2006

A great low-key restaurant in a convenient location. I had the fessenjan (chicken in pomegranate & walnut sauce) which was very good. Service was friendly and attentive - they brought us one HUGE salad for the table. They also offered us a tasting menu, which could be helpful if you don't know this type of food. I'll definitely go back. more

Excellent little place 2/4/2006

This restaurant is very well hidden, set back from Wilshire next to a dry cleaners. It's small, but with easy parking. It has a very ""family-run"" feel to it, and the staff are very friendly and courteous. It's tiny, and you may feel like you are walking into someone's home when you arrive, there's a few tables in a small patio area, and a line of tables inside the restaurant. The food is fantastic and typical for Persian-style food and you will not be disappointed by the quality and generosity of each portion. The service is quick too (under 10 mins). Actually, I'd rate the food much higher than larger, more expensive restaurants as the kebabs are very tender and have a LOT of flavor. At around $10/main dish, the value is very good and I'd highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. Pros: Food, Service, Inexpensive Cons: Location more

Delicious 7/9/2005

Food was really great, hummus was one of the best I ever had. We went late and it was almost closing but they were very attentive. I really enjoyed it. It was also fairly inexpensive. The lamb shank was superb more

Superb Persian Food at Pistachio Grill! 1/25/2005

I was on a business trip to L.A. recently and heard about the Pistachio Grill from a colleague, who raved about it. As a fan of Persian cooking, I just had to experience it for myself. It was everything I had hoped for--and more: delicious, well prepared dishes, served in a friendly and charming atmosphere (we ate in their cozy outdoor patio). I especially loved their signature pistachio hummous and the fessenjoon--chicken stewed in a delectable pomegranate/walnut sauce. Best of all, it was easy on my wallet. Who knew that Beverly Hills had such a down-to-earth little gem of a place? I would go back in a heartbeat and have already told all my colleagues to head for the Pistachio Grill when they next fly out to LA. Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious Food, Great Service more

yummmmm 11/13/2004

My husband and I drive to Pistachio Grill from Camarillo. The food is incredible and the owners are so nice. The chef is amazing, and he loves to serve his food. We found P. G. accidentally one day while looking for a place to eat before the theater. Now we go down there just to eat. Pros: variety, immaculate, great service more

Paradise is a Persian word, actually! 10/25/2004

And it describes Pistachio Grill to a P, at least food wise. Amazing, REALLY HOME COOKED Persian food...and tons of it, too. Their kashk-o-bademjoon is not to be believed. Light, fluffy. Their chicken koobideh is the juiciest in town. The doogh is home made with REAL kakuti herbs. Amazing. Go starving, because they'll stuff you. All family members do the service. Oh, and the desserts are homemade too. Baklava where you can taste the nuts and not just some syrupy sugar. And they do takeout and catering too. Now where's my lamb kabob and that rich rice studded with real cherries?? Pros: Inexpensive, great food, parking on weekends more

Exceeds your expectations! 10/24/2004

This restaurant was so charming and elegant. I felt like I was dining in a friend's home. The food was excellent. My favorite was the koobideh--it was so tender and juicy, it was worth driving there from Calabasas. Oh, and by-the-way, the pistachio humos was a ""must have"". Pros: Great Food, Charming decor, Friendly Service more
