this bowling center caters mainly to better bowlers and does not seem to care about the average bowler. They want your money but are not helpful with casual and beginner bowlers...

Royal Scot Golf & Bowl is for cosmic only 12/15/2009

Bowl in leagues here. Definitely not my idea of a high scoring house. They change the oil pattern on a weekly basis depending on who is operating the oiler each week. The only reason I bowl there is because a friend wanted me on his team and as another bonus I'll have some handicap from the lower average I have there. I would only recommend this place if you're just going to goof around and have fun for the open bowling. There are plenty of better scoring, consistent houses to bowl at in Lansing if you're looking for a league. more

Not for your average and beginning bowler. 11/15/2009

this bowling center caters mainly to better bowlers and does not seem to care about the average bowler. They want your money but are not helpful with casual and beginner bowlers. service is overall poor, staff is abrupt and snobbish. very pricey, very few deals. turned me off on bowling. Pros: physically clean, bright and appealing Cons: poor service, high prices, lots of kids looking for trouble more

Royal Scot Golf & Bowl is not a good place to go 6/16/2009

I agree with other reviews, a lot of kids hanging around looking for trouble, saw a fight and a potential fight. staff does not seem to care, they are only interested in pushing drinks. I have tried the golf course this spring, not very well designed or kept up. Lanes are okay, they cater mainly to high average bowlers and not the typical family. Very pricey, definitely not an activity for the whole family. they need to work on their prices. more

Awesome place for some fun! 12/7/2008

My girlfriend and I recently went here and had a blast! I've never seen such a nice bowling alley in my life! Every lane had its own 42" tv! It can be hard sometimes to find fun things to do in Lansing, especially in the winter, but Royal Scot has never disappointed. We enjoy going there to bowl, play in the pinball pete's arcade, and have a few drinks.\r \r I've read through the other reviews and I have to disagree; I've never seen fights or "kids" drinking there. Also, I have a hard time believing the review of them being pricey... The pitcher of beer I drank was cheap and it was $2.75 for a game! Way cheaper then going out to the movies @ $8/ per ticket.\r \r Our family has gone plenty of times to the "Smoke Free Saturday's"; they seem very family oriented, especially in regard to a bowling alley.\r \r If I had kids, I wouldn't take them to any other of those smoke filled bowling alleys. more

Great fun! 8/25/2008

We've had our office party here several times now and it is always a fun outing. We've used their catering service for the parties and the food was very good as well. They have a bowling alley too if you don't golf. I recommend going to Royal Scot. The whole family will find something to enjoy. more

Pricey 8/22/2008

This place is pricey and they do not give good service. It is a place for kids to go to get into trouble. Bottom line. I would not allow my child to go there on a Friday or Saturday night unattended. more

Horrifying 4/22/2008

This place is for kids to get into trouble. I went on a Friday night. The place was full of kids that had been drinking and just basically loitering. They do not mind as long as they are making money. I don't plan on ever going back. They need to concentrate on people and not profit. more

Disappointed 5/29/2007

I went to Royal Scot in February for a evening out with friends. When I went out to the parking lot, I learned that my new car had been sideswiped all down the side. I went in to the people at the desk to tell them about it, and they basically blew me off. I was disappointed in the way they treated us. more

Not pleasant 5/23/2007

My son went to Royal Scot this past winter on a cosmic bowling night. There was a fight and a group of rough kids who had obviously been drinking hanging around the place. I find it ashame that a place would allow this type of behavior to make money. I would definitely stay with my child if they were to go there on a Saturday night. \r \r Their prices are okay... a little pricey.\r \r I don't know anyone that golfs there so I cannot comment. more

Great banquet facility 11/29/2005

One of my best friends just had her wedding reception at the Royal Scot Banquet Center in Lansing. As one of her bridesmaids, I helped her with a lot of planning and details when it came to the hall. I must say, that they were one of the nicest groups to work with. They were so accommodating to all of her plans and helped to bring her visions to real life. Their decorating was exceptional, the food was excellent, and even their costs are extremely reasonable for the services they provide. Their top notch customer service helped to make her dream wedding day come true. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a reception site. more

Nice bowling, golfing and banquet facility! 11/7/2005

This is one of the nicest bowling alleys around! It is always very clean. They do updates every few years, even the rental shoes are not unbearable! Be prepared to wait if you want to bowl on a Saturday night, but the wait is worth it. They offer cosmic bowling with lights and music as well as standard bowling. Cosmic makes for a good time. The prices are good for the nice facilitly, and the pizza cant be beat, its the best in Lansing!! more

Excellent facility. 9/15/2005

The Royal Scot Golf Course is an outstanding place (it is golf and so much more). Personally, I have bowled there and golfed there. Even though is pretty far away from where I live, it is well worth the trip past other bowling alleys to go there. The lanes are kept in great shape. Also, for the average golfer, the course is well-maintained and challenging enough to keep you coming back. more

The Royal Scot Golf Course is a very nice golfing facility. We enjoy golfing there. It is well maintained. They also have a banquet hall that is very nice. It is clean and well maintained. The food that we have had at the receptions was good also. There is also a bowling alley. There are a lot of lanes. The kids enjoy bowling there. Their prices on everything are very average. I would recommend using any of these facilities. more

Golf Course and Bowling Alley 7/24/2005

This is the best bowling alley in Lansing. It's very long and has plenty of lanes, and most nights half of the building is under blacklights and called "Cosmic Bowling" and the other half is traditional. They have a good deal on Fridays before 5pm, you can buy an all-you-can-bowl pass for just 8 dollars!! Plenty of parking....located in a kind of out-of-the-way area... more

nice facility 7/15/2005

The banquet facility in the Royal Scot Golf Course is very nice. There is a lot of space and it is very well maintained. The food was good at the receptions that I attended. The golfing is also very nice. It is well taken care of and the prices are average. more
