overall, by far best Chinese in New Haven. and quite good by broader standards as well. very tasty mu shu pork, very nice soft eggplant with garlic sauce, chewy scallion pancake. delivery prompt and courteous. will keep ordering from this place. more

The food was tasty and not overly salty (had the shrimp lo mein and steamed dumplings.) Delivery came 30 minutes earlier than the updated approximate delivery time I had received from GrubHub after ordering. Will definitely order from here again. more

The Best Chinese Restaurant Ever 2/17/2009

I came to this restaurant with a friend for lunch once and I fell in love with the food at Royal Palace. The people whobwork there are very friendly and they will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your meal. I suggest the sauteed string beans and their chow funs. They even have an authentic Chinese menu. Authentic Chinese tea is also available and it is even served in clay pots! The atmosphere and food is just wonderful there. more

best Chinese restaurant in New Haven. 10/30/2006

This is the real thing in New Haven. Talk to the owners and get recommendations based on your likes and dislikes. They are brutally honest. I tried ordering General Tso's chicken to go (for a not so adventurous friend), and the guy shook his head and with knitted eyebrows said: ""order something else. That's no good."" You have to give it to an owner who'll tell you like it is. I've been to big parties here, and the food is fresh and wonderful. Try the crispy prawns. You'd be pleasantly surprised!!
