far from good service 11/7/2009

I am forced to use this location because my doctor is not working nights and weekends, so in order not to take days off work i occassionally use this place. i wish I didn't have to. \r \r Two weeks ago i went there with skin rash. Doctor looked at my rash for exactly 10 seconds, and confirmed it is from shaving my legs. She didn't even look up close. She prescribed antibiotics and it get get better although didn't clear completelly. later on i received 2 phone messages from a doctor-don't know what about, I left my cell phone number for them, so i don't know why they didn't call that number but called number that i do not use anymore. \r \r I desperatelly tried to call back, she is either not there or is not calling me back busy with patients. i still do not know why she called, if i have some skin disease, if it is some other problem. i would like to go to my own doctor on Monday but I need to know what is this ROMC doctor calling for? now i am going to my doctor and ask him to call this center and find out what is the problem. If I go to ROMC to find out why they call, they will charge me for a visit, my insurance has deductible.\r \r last year i went to ROMC with cough and sore throat, they said it si nothing serious (they didn't even try checking why i am coughing so hard for a week) but when it didn't get better and i went to my own doctor he checked and I had bronchitis and strep throat. \r \r this place just doesn't sound very professional to me. I don't trust them. and seriously if you call a patient and a patient calls you back how hard is it to answer? Pros: open on the weekends and nights Cons: poor service more

Uneducation medical staff 9/5/2008

I went there for major back pain, I decided to go to ROMC instead of the ER because I thought I would get faster medical attention. I was WRONG. I t turned out I had a kidney infection and was passing some stones. I waited for 4 hours before I was even brought back into the exam room. There I was treated rudley by the medical assistant, which I also am a certified medical assistant. SHe didn't wash her hands before she slamed the thermomerter into my mouth. There I waited another hour brfore the Dr. came in. She was nice and listened to me. I ended up having to get rocephin injections for 3 days in a row, so for 3 days I had to return there to get another injection. I only went twice becasue the second time I went the Medical assistant administered the injection on top of my sciatic nerve and then reapplied alcohol to my injection site. I was so upset that my husband had to restrain me from grabbing the MA. If I were to do that at my job, I'd by fired, but then again I work at a doctors office were we are all certified and can speak proper english. I made multiple complaints to the management and it turns out she still works there. I would not recomend this place to any one. The staff is rude and unperfessional. If I were the Senior doctor I would consider hireing a staff that can speak english, isn't rude and are education on were to give proper injections. I will never return to that office. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Waited for a total of 5 hours before seen by a Doctor & rude staff more

Why did I go here 1/23/2008

I had some stomach pain and wanted to go to a clinic. I remembered seeing this place on cooledge by Meijers so I tried it out. I had to wait 1.5 hours in pain in the waiting room. I had to fill out new patient forms twice because the person I originally gave them to left for the day and they were lost. Once I got in the back I had to wait another hour before they saw me. The doctor spent less than 2 minutes with me and from what I could understand of the broken English said nothing was wrong and just to wait it out. I have an out of state insurance because of my work situation and they would not let me leave without paying cash for the visit. All of this while I am practically doubled over in pain. I went to Beaumont and they found a serious ulcer that Royal Oak told me to just wait out. Pros: Seriously?????? um... great location. Cons: Poor care, poor service, nothing posative about experience more

Avoid this place 7/11/2007

I had a minor skin surgery and the doctor did not even numb correctly so I needlessly felt all the pain anyway. They not only messed up the billing to my insurance but I got in an argument with the staff when I did not want to give them my social security number since I would have to announce it within ear shot of the guest waiting room. Will not go back. Pros: close to home Cons: bad service more

Buyer beware when it comes to health care, you will have problems here!!! 6/29/2007

Before you visit the Royal Oak Medical Center please consider my experience. I was a customer of the Medical Center for 1.5 years and will no longer go there for health care. I was originally lured in by the convenience of the walk in health care but ended up disappointed by their billing department. Their medical staff is average with no bedside manor but can get the job done if you need care. \r \r However 70% of my visits there led to some sort of billing problem. I was constantly fighting with insurance because they would submit the wrong diagnosis codes and I was often double billed for service (pay at the counter, then receive the same bill in the mail weeks or months later). They even double billed me 1.5 years later for my first visit. When I refused to pay they sent a COLLECTION AGENCY after me. Almost every time I went there someone was arguing over something at the counter because there admin staff is so horrible. By the way if you want to call to dispute a charge they only take a message and your call might be returned on certain days between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.\r \r I am not a overly picky consumer and my insurance was Blue Cross so there is no reason they could not successfully work with my insurance.\r \r Please save yourself the constant aggravation. There is not only better health care out there but you won't have billing problems for average health care Pros: no appointment headaches Cons: Average health care and no end to billing problems more
