Royal Music Ctr Inc

Went into Royal last Wednesday looking for a beginner guitar for my 13 year old son. I was planning to shop around, but felt confident in the guitar that was suggested to me. The sales man was a young man that I suspected was a manager, as he was very knowledgable and curteous. I know that not every body that shops buys stuff the same day, and I didn't feel pressure to buy right then and there. I felt that if I wanted to, I could come back and get that same kind of polite service. Not only did I buy the guitar, but they worked out a full deal and included a carry bag, a book, and guitar picks. As we were leaving, the sales man also suggested a local guitar teacher for my son. That worked out great... I called him and scheduled a month of lessons that start just after the New Year! This guitar sale and our experience was so nice and easy. I cannot see how any body could not feel special in this great music store. I give five stars for very selfish reasons... When I get treated special, then I love to tell others about it. When I get treated like crap, I love to tell MORE people! Royal music did it right for me. I understand that you cannot please all people all the time, but Royal music did it for me!!! more

Purchased a very expensive guitar from them ($3,000) with a promise in writing of a new case that they would order. They kept saying it was on order, Taylor was out of stock, it was coming in next week, then next month. After several months it was apparent that they never had any intent of giving me a new case they were just waiting for the return period to expire. They wouldn't communicate with me anymore at all. It is very rare to find a business like this that can tell you on the phone and in writing (emails) several times that they intend to do something and then blow you off!!!!! This is a place to avoid like the plague. more

I went to Royal to purchase a flute for my daughter. They had over 30 flutes to choose from and we had absolutely know idea what we were looking at. The sales people were knowledgeable and courteous. They even knew my daughters teacher and informed me they help out over 100 NY schools with repairs, rentals, sheet music and service. A few months later the instrument needed a small repair and they fixed it at no charge (it was my daughters fault). I have never seen more guitars in one place!!!! The music in the store was cool and they even have a TV and a Couch!! When we were there every other person that walked through the door seemed to know the staff. Very old school and very cool!!! I felt very comfortable there and recommend them to all my friends and colleagues. Pros: Huge Selection, great staff, low prices Cons: parking can be tight (car dealership next door) more
