On Father's Day I noticed water on my basement floor...yikes! One of the 15-year old water heaters was leaking. I called Sears and they gave me an estimate over the phone and could do the work same day. I called Roto Rooter. They wouldn't give me a phone estimate but would come to the house within 2 hours and give a free estimate. So I said sure. On time, clean, and very professional, the technician arrived. He gave me an estimate after taking a look at both heaters. He could have told me the both needed replacing, but he showed me how just one was leaking. His estimate was about $50 higher than Sears. Fifty bucks is a lot to spend if I didn't have to. Then the Roto Rooter guy asked - did Sears' quote include this and that...I wasn't sure so I called Sears back. In fact NO, Sears gave me a quote just for the heater, not the connections, etc. So in the end, Roto Rooter was less expensive! The tech worked all afternoon. He cleaned up. Showed me what he'd done. Made it a painless process. Roto Rooter doesn't haul away the old heater - which Sears would do for $10. But my Roto tech took the old heater upstairs for me and suggested I put it on the curb saying scrap guys snap these things up. Sure enough, it was gone within hours! Thanks Roto Rooter. I highly recommend your services. more

I had the best Roto-Rooter experience. 5/30/2012

I had the best Roto-Rooter experience. I was concerned about sewage backing up into my bath tub. The plumber, Mel 2708 was so helpful in clearing the blockage and thoroughly explained the problem. i would definitely use this service again... and would even request the same plumber. Thanks Roto-Rooter!!! more

This is our first time using this company. We had a kitchen link backup that overflowed in our laundy room - what a mess! We contacted Roto-Rooter the next morning, and someone was out to us within the hour! Bill was very professional, quick, yet thorough! Will definitely use their services again if necessary (no offense, but I hope we won't have to). more

We called Roto-Rooter due to a sewage back-up that was causing sewage (as well as lizards!) to start coming up from our shower drain in the basement bathroom! It was very unsettling, especially since it was discovered at around 11:00 p.m, but we called Roto-Rooter and they were able to send two workers first thing in the morning. They were kind, friendly and were able to fix the problem quickly and efficiently. They even cleaned up the mess which was a great help to me (because I was not about to pick up lizards from the shower floor). Highly recommended! more

We needed to call Roto-Rooter because we were having water come up the drain in our laundry room. My husband called Friday morning and they were able to send someone out by 5:00 pm that evening. The plumber came out from Naperville and had the problem fixed within the hour. Mark was courteous and took the time to answer all of our questions. We were very pleased with the service that was provided! more

AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE 6/17/2011

I was in a panic as my dishwasher was backing up into my sink and then both sides of the sink wouldn't drain. After the 3 bottles of an over the counter remedy, you tube searching for about an hour...I checked the p-traps, tried a plunger and still no movement. I then came to the realization that this problem needed a professional. So I went with the brand name...and you know what, reputation is underestimated. I was completely happy with the speed in which a technician came out and his advice on what NOT to put down the disposal. Thanks Jack! Peace of mind is priceless. I would recommend in a heartbeat. more

I had a problem with my toilet where it wouldn't flush anymore. They arrived within a few minutes of the start of the window and got the job done. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I told them I had a coupon; they forgot to ask for it and I forgot to give it to them. Oh well -- at least the problem was solved. I would recommend them even though it was rather expensive. more

What you don't want to know about sewers 5/10/2011

We learned the hard way about what happens when tree roots clog up the sewer line. It's just not something we often think about when we flush the toilet or do the laundry. After having Joe from Roto-rooter come out to unclog our line, he recommended that we have a guy come out to run a scope through to see if there is any further trouble. Mark D. came out the very next day and, in under 15 minutes, had made a video of the entire line. He was very professional and thoroughly explained what our options are, based on what he found. We would definitely recommend Roto-rooter to our friends & family. more

Mother's Day trouble 5/9/2011

Our plumber Ken from Naperville came out within an hour of our call. The sewer was cleared in 1/2 hour yet he stayed with us for over an hour to make sure everything was clear and running fine. Ken went above and beyond his duties to make sure we were free of any other problems before he left. Job well done!! more

1st Time Using -- A+ 4/29/2011

We have just moved into a new home and discovered one morning our sink was filled with water while using our dishwasher. Also, our grabage disposal was backing up water into the sink just beside it. We called up Roto-Rooter and someone came out about 2 hours later. Our plumber was courteous and diligent. After clearing the pipes, he attempted to flush things through 3 times to make sure the blockage was gone. We've used plumbers in our past home and were always satisfied, but after having the help of Roto-Rooter we see how their service is even better! more

Our sewer was backed up on the Saturday night of Easter weekend, and Roto-Rooter in Naperville was able to get a plumber to us within an hour. The plumber, was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Even though the job took more time than we originally thought, the plumber was patient and stuck with it until he was sure the problem was fixed. Also, we weren't charged more for the extra time he was here. I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter for your plumbing needs. more

He explained what the problem was and why he had to do things the way he did. He worked quickly and efficiently and was very professional.
