We've been to Rosie's about 7 times now, living so near. The first time we went was for dinner. The service was actually alright and the food, while alright, wasn't extraordinary (we had the fajitas). The next time we came in, we ordered breakfast tacos to go. The last 3 times we came by were just consecutive horrible service experiences. The first of the three - we had to wait forever to get some salsa and our drinks refilled. The second, our food took a very long time to arrive and we were never served our chips and salsa until we asked for it from our waiter for the third or fourth time. They also forgot to serve my friend's coffee, which was more or less like dishwater anyway, when it finally arrived. They never asked if there was anything else we needed before just leaving our check at the table. The last time we were there, we simply decided to place an order by phone, hoping we'll never have to deal with the bad service again. Unfortunately, we had to re-order when we got there as they apparently had never processed or written down the order somehow.
If you're a stickler for good salsa (as one previous review stated, it really is just pureed tomatoes, but I'd like to add it's got some chilis in it, other than that, it's flavorless) and service, you may want to think twice about this place. On the other hand, some of the best breakfast tacos are served in this establishment (we always order the suicides, believe me, it's good!), and the other food is not bad. It's a family owned establishment and while some of the folks are friendly, they really need to improve their customer service. I'd rate them 2.5 stars if I could, because to me, service comprises half the restaurant experience. It really is too bad and I hope they can improve soon.
Pros: Some of the best breakfast tacos (and pralines) in town
Cons: HORRIBLE service, salsa needs improvement
