Bad place with good people working there 3/25/2008

The corporate giant is themself a leaser. The building is being torn down to protect the heath and welfare of the community. What the other person failed to mention was that two other venues that already have established theaters with no one in them: Pavillion Place adn Har Mar mall have refused to rent to the owners of Roseville 4. All of the people who came to Rainbow over the years to buy pop and candy should have done so at the theater so maybe now they would have had the money to relocate some place else. The people who work at the Roseville 4 will be missed. Why not think about them rather than your hurt feelings at not being able to have a cheap theater. Maybe if all the critics got together they could co-op a theater and have the seats be cheap. more

The last days of a great time! 3/24/2008

Get to the Roseville 4 Theatres NOW. The big corporate giant that owns Rainbow Foods (ROUNDY'S) has revoked their lease and will be taking over this space and closing this theatre on March 31. It is a shame. They truly do have the best popcorn in the Twin Cities. We sometimes stop there just for the popcorn on our way home from work. We will really miss that, and the $1 Tuesday night movies. Come on corporate bozo's.......change your minds. We need Roseville 4 to stay! Pros: Price, popcorn, movie selection Cons: condition of theatre seating more

SMELLS of URINE, but good popcorn 1/17/2008

Went there, good popcorn. Smelled like URINE, almost a quarter of the SEAT are BROKEN, the ceiling is falling. Pros: popcorn Cons: broken seats, smells of urine, bathrooms gross, bad picture during movies 80% of time, more

Get past the smell and cleanliness and it's a great deal. 4/1/2007

My boyfriend and I went here on a Tuesday night- and got the unexpected surprise of a $1 ticket. I had never been there before, but wasn't disappointed with the experience. The theater has a funky odor, the floor is a little sticky, but I found that the chairs were probably the most comfortable movie seats I've ever sat on. The bathroom lacks adequate lighting. For a buck though, I wasn't expecting anything more than what I got and we will probably be back. You can't rent movies cheaper than this. Pros: price, comfy seats Cons: smell, cleanliness more

Enjoyable 3/24/2007

after reading your reviews we were reluctant to visit this theatre but amazingly we found a nice affordable and enjoyable movie and theater. we are thankful there are places to go like this where you aren't charged an arm and a leg. check it out!!!! Pros: excellent choices for snack bar more

Wrong! 2/27/2007

Seriously man! There is nothing like going to see a 2 dollar movie in a run down theatre that smells funny. It's the experience, atmosphere that any movie producer would get a kick out of. more

Total Dump 2/1/2007

This theater should be condemned! Absolutely horrible, run down facilities. Very old poor and broken seating. My movie-going experience was totally ruined (the movie was excellent) by the condition of the theater. Yes, everyone raves about the cheap ticket price, but I would gladly pay $3 admission, if only they would fix up the place. I'm not saying it has to be spectacular, but it seems as if the owners have not put a DIME into providing a clean, comfortable theater. I would think any movie producer would refuse to have a film shown in the place. Roseville 4 practically screams: ""Yes, you should have waited for the DVD. Obviously I won't be back to this theater anytime soon, but I will be nominating this DIVE for Extreme Makeover: Movie Theater Edition. Pros: cheap tickets, parking Cons: horrible seating, very dirty and run down, no pride in ownership at all more

Great Deal!!! 4/3/2006

My friend and I went here all the time during the summer, it was cheap and had great selection of movies!!! I would recommend it to anyone, it is soo much cheaper than than other theaters. Although the floors are very sticky, I think the chairs are quite comfortable. The concessions are a little pricy, but it's so cheap to get into the theater!! Pros: Cheap, Nice Chairs, Selection Cons: Sticky Floors, Pricy Concessions more

Can't beat the deal 1/13/2003

This theatre may be dirty, the parking may be difficult at times, but honestly, can you beat a 2.00 movie? It's cheaper than renting a DVD to go to this theatre. They have good concessions, good movie selection, and the rocking chairs are pretty comfortable too! People need to stop complaining... you get what you pay for, and for 2.00, this is a steal! Pros: price, movies, concessions Cons: parking, crowded on tues, a bit dirty more

dirty deal 1/10/2003

Dirty, dingy atmosphere. Broken seats. No deals on concessions. Check out the Plaza Maplewood Theatre, which is the same price but far better venue. Pros: cheap Cons: dirty, dingy, broken, noisy seats more

Go to the Riverview instead! 1/6/2003

I went to this theater for 6 years. It is cheap. It is disgusting. Two months ago I discovered the Riverview Theater in Minneapolis. It is just as cheap. It is wonderful. A 1000% better experience than this place. Usually I'm St. Paul-centric, but in this case I'll make an exception. Go to the Riverview. You'll love it! Pros: cheap Cons: disgustingly dirty, strange parking more

Great for the budget conscience 1/2/2003

If you are patient, this theater is a great value, especially considering the inflated prices at so many other theaters. Affordable entertainment with something for everyone. Pros: great value more

Inexpensive!! 11/22/2002

The prices are great! The theater itself isn't so great but the tickets are so cheap it really doesn't matter! Pros: Inexpensive Cons: A bit dirty more

A College student's dream! 9/6/2002

Affectionally referred to as ""the buck"" at my college, I go to see movies there at least once a week. Sometimes parking can be a pain, and it doesn't look the best on the inside, but for 2 dollars (1 buck on tuesdays!) you won't find a better theater anywhere. Pros: comfy seating, price Cons: parking, crowded more

What do you expect? 7/13/2002

We are lucky to have such a theater in the twin cities that offers such great films at a low price. One of the theaters doesn't have surround, the seats need to be fixed! Sticky floors. If these things can be changed of course it would be wonderfull but as they say ""what do ya expect!"" Pros: price, people, movies Cons: broken seats, sticky floors, no surround in 1 thea more

Great Deals! 6/10/2002

You are seeing a movie for $2 dollars, of course the place isn't going to be as nice as a regularly priced movie theater. Yes, it's a bit older but the movie selection is always great and I've never had trouble getting a seat. This theater gets movies before Blockbuster and you pay half the price! See it on the big screen for $2 or in your home 1 month later for $4. I think it's an obvious decision... Pros: Cheap, Movie Selection, Convenient Cons: Uncomfortable Seats, Older Theater more
