No.9 - Three Wings & A Waffle 9/19/2006

The No.9 is my favorite thing to order. Stick to dining at this place in the daytime. Because the element drastically changes after 7:00pm, especially on weekends. Avoid Sunday brunching too, because masses of people wait outside for a table. Not to mention you'll probably be hustled to buy a t-shirt, a purse, some inscents...Need I say more. more

Surprised 7/16/2006

My friend dragged me here kicking and screaming one night. I thought she was kidding when we finally found a place to park and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. But, surprisingly, the food was pretty good! Clearly not a place to go on a diet, but the waffles and chicken were good for the price. Not a place I will be visiting very often, but fun to try once or twice. Pros: Fun, pretty good food, cheap Cons: Greasy, fattening, long lines during peak hours more

Don't knock it 'til you tried it. 2/7/2006

Everyone that's never been to Roscoe's makes a pukey face when you tell them about the pairing of fried chicken and waffles. Then you take them there, and they kiss your feet for introducing them to the glory that is RHCW. My advice: go now, go often, and build a nap into your schedule afterward. Pros: cheap, delicious, unique more

Roscoes @ Pico 12/19/2005

Took a friend from Newark, NJ. He was cravin' for some collargreens, mac&cheez and finger lickin' chicken.....The food was good although for the side dishes you pay pretty, pretty much money, and it ain't much!! It was overall a good experience, but I'll rather eat my next chicken, cornbread, collargreens, mac&cheez at my mama's house.....O yeah, the service was wack, they were to bussy arguing amongs themselves, but maybe that's what they do to create a 'HOME' atmosphere........... more

The House of Chicken 9/22/2005

I took my boyfriend for the first time. He loves the chicken but the waffles where more that average. The Chicken was great.!!!!!!! The wait is a little to long. Pros: Chicken, Price Cons: Wait time more

Love that ""Fried Chicken"" 8/5/2005

Roscoes is the place to be for those of you that have a huge appetite! They give you plenty on your plate, you will need a doggie bag.Try the scoes special#2 it is to die for.If your one those ladies trying to wacth your figure this is not the plce for you.It is soul food at its best.I am on my way there now!See you there!Theres nothing like waffles and fried chiken! Pros: inexspensive, friendly service, great food Cons: long wait for table, small parking lot, noisy more

Cheap Eats? You've got to be kidding! 6/4/2005

Yes, the waffles are great, no doubt about it. The chicken was a great disappointment. Sort of like the chicken at Popeye's, tasty but harvested from some mysterious race of pygmy chickens and then way, way, *way* overpriced. A chicken leg at Ralphs costs maybe 40 cents, but here it will cost you $4, just like at Popeyes. Lunch for two cost me $30 for about $3 worth of food. Pros: waffles Cons: chicken, prices, size of chicken more

Get the #13 Meal! 8/5/2004

Outsdtanding fried chicken, just be prepared to wait for a table. Pros: fried chicken, pleasant staff Cons: , not enough parking more

Cant go wrong 7/8/2004

These waffles are the best tasting waffles I have ever had. I have been 3 times and keep getting those chicken and waffles. I love grits & gravy & giblets, but know I cant get a better tasting waffle anywhere else but maybe home. I need to go more often to try the other menu items I guess. THe service is greatonce you wait in line and get through that door. Not alot of seating, but its well worth the wait. Pros: Food, Price, quality and quanity more

schadi 7/6/2004

Man, I dream about this place at night. I've only been to the Long Beach location, so I'm sure the one in LA's got to be just as good. I, also, am not a waffle fan, but they are really awesome here. I always have to get the mac n cheese. Biscuits and gravy are sooooo good, too. I never have enough room in my belly for all the food I order. Pros: Best Fried Chicken more

Umm! Umm! Good 5/6/2004

I had heard of Roscoes, and finally got the chance to take a trip there two years ago. I don't even like waffles, but theirs were so light, fluffy, hot and delicious that I ate the whole thing and actually wanted more. The Gizzards or Livers with gravy over rice are the best things on the menu! I can't wait to get back to LA so that I can go again! Pros: Good Parking, Friendly Diverse Staf more

Food is GREAt, price is... 5/1/2004

If it's your first time at Roscoe's, no question about it- you have to get the chicken and waffle combination. The fried chicken here is probably the best I've ever had; juicy and the skin was incredible. The waffles are amazing too; buttery, sweet, amazing. Also, make sure you put hot sauce AND syrup on your chicken, trust me. The only negative to Roscoe's is the price. You'd imagine, for the type of food it would be relatively cheap. Well, $15 for one order of chicken and waffles is a little too much in my opinion. Service is pretty good- very fast, and the waitstaff is nice. Pros: Fried Chicken, Servers more

Sinfully Yummy 1/4/2004

Leave your conscience at home. This place is a cardiologist's nightmare. But like most things bad for you, it is yummy. The chicken is greasy, tender, juicy and %100 southern style delicious. Go ahead and smather that big ole dab of whipped butter all over your waffle, there is simply no other way to eat it. For a real treat, try the chicken liver omelette. Enough cholesterol for a year but it is worth it. Pros: fried chicken, yummy waffles, eggs Cons: wait, slow service, lots of cholesterol more

TRY THE JEANNE JONES! 12/5/2002

Skip the chicken and waffles and head straight for #5(at least it was last time I was there)! The Jeanne Jones Omelette features chicken and melted cheese wrapped in some of the fluffiest eggs you've ever tasted. It comes with your choice of homemade french fries (my personal favorite, drenched in hot sauce and ketchup of course) or waffle. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Service more

grits, yummie 12/4/2002

always a great filling meal, the best chicken and waffles i have ever eaten. more

It's Da Bomb!!!! 8/15/2002

""Scoe's"" is the bomb! I was stationed out that way in the Air Force back in 1995-1998 and I fell in love with Roscoe's chicken and waffles! At first, I was like ""I ain't eatin' no d*mn chicken and waffles, that don't even go together"", but my boys P.D. and Reggie took me there and I was thirsty for Roscoe's the rest of the time I was there! Not only is the food good, but ain't no tellin' what celebrity you might run across. I'm plannin' on comin' back to L.A (cause it's off the chain), and Roscoe's will definitely be on the my list of priorities. I knew they were all that when my mama ( a southern woman who only eats her own cookin') said how good it was! Y'all keep doing it and I'll be back! Pros: reasonable pricing, taste of the food!!!, who you may see Cons: parking, wait more

Late Night Delight! 8/7/2002

We walked in just after midnight, were seated in a minute, ordered and had food inside of 2 minutes. The food was stellar! Fried Chicken & Waffles together on one plate...who woulda thunk it? The staff & clientelle was friendly and fun as well. Had some happy gospel singers in the next booth. This is greasy spoon dining at its absolute best. Pros: FAST, Tasty, Cheap Cons: close at 4am more

um um finger lickin good 7/14/2002

My very first experience @ Rosco's was three years ago. I'm originally from Baltimore, MD and have never heard of chicken with waffles, so of course I had to try it. The kind waitress gave me 1 waffle and 2 pieces of chicken, which at first sight I didn't believe would be enough to fill me up not only was the food tasty but fulfilling as well. I find myself often talking about my experience at Rosco's and I look forward to my next visit to Los Angeles for Rosco's Chicken and Waffles. Pros: Great food/Price, Kind staff, Celebrities drop by Cons: parking, larger accomodations more

An ingenious combination 7/11/2002

At first, I didn't quite grasp the concept of eating waffles and chicken for dinner; however, after having dinner at Roscoes, the beauty of this combination was revealed. With the best waffles and crispy chicken, this is definitely a place that I recommend eating at. more

Liver is good! 7/10/2002

After a short wait, picking an item on the menu was rather hard. I decided on the liver omellete. Delicous! If you like liver, I recommend it highly. My friend got the 1/2 chicken, which he loved as well. The waffles are mandatory, and are perfect and buttery. Definitely going back! more
