Was driving through the city today with my daughter, and passed this place on South Street. Being in the mood for BBQ, I thought I'd give it a shot. I even checked reviews on my cell phone before going in, and thought I found a gem with all of the glowing reviews...\r

The place is definitely a dive, which isn't a problem. A very small place, that emits a nice smokey aroma. I thought that the menu was on the size of an index card, was a little strange, but once again no big deal. So I ordered...Chopped pork sandwich, corn bread and baked mac and cheese. Thought this would be plenty for my daughter and I to split. Opted for the pork instead of the ribs, because my daughter is only 17 months . Thought I'd be able to keep my hands cleaner with a sandwich. Food was ready in no time, and was definitely steaming hot. Except, I was a little surprised to find out that sandwich meant BBQ pork laying on white bread. I'm not anti-whitebread, but this is not the time for it. If it was at least toasted ,I would have been ok with it. The white bread quickly turned to a sloppy mess. The pork itself was so-so. Nothing special here. Same with the sides, they were ok. The $12 for the meal seemed a bit pricey for what it was, but not a big deal. I'd pass on this place, unless the ribs are that much better.
Pros: Its in the city?
Cons: Bad BBQ, smoke in the restaurant
