All reviews seem positive

great rooms 4/1/2003

Decent prices for how large the rooms were. Very clean and simply decorated. The service is great and the sushi bar is ecellent. Beware the poolside bar!! $11 pina coladas and $13 hamburgers. Step inside the hotel and have lunch at Breezes cafe in your beach wear--they don't mind. Sandwiches are very good and much more reasonable. Pros: good location, huge rooms Cons: cramped pool area more

Great sushi and Affordable price 1/17/2003

Got a great deal for this hotel on expedia. The hotel is really giving great deals now because it's under construction. Once it's done with construction the prices will skyrocket. Similar or worse hotels in the area are much more expensive. We ordered a cityview studio and once there we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom oceanview suite for free. The rooms were huge. The only problem is that their balconies are all closed for inspection. One of the pools is closed for construction and when were there beginning of january, the pipes in the 2nd pool leaked and they had to close it as well. They might have fixed it by now though. Call ahead. But the beach is much nicer and they offer cabbanas and beach chairs there. My biggest problem was the walk to south beach. It's a 15 minute walk to get to all the clubs. more

Fabulous!! 10/8/2002

we just returned from our vacation in South Beach, Miami and I was so thrilled with the Roney Palace that I had to rate it. The service was incredible, and our room was huge!!! We had a free upgrade to a suite, and the room was beautiful, and clean. When we first arrived, our luggage was delivered to our room by the concierge, who proceded to give us so much information about what to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again on my next visit. Pros: pool, large rooms, view Cons: pool closes early, pool bar expensive, service charges more

VERY NICE! 9/17/2002

I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. A big group of us just got back and we were all impressed with the service we had. The rooms were huge and very clean. Pool was awesome and we had beach access as well. I will stay here again! more

All in all - a great place to stay 8/13/2002

We just got back from Roney Palace. Overall we enjoyed our stay but experienced some problems. When we first arrived, the key to our room didn't work. After maintenance worked on it for over an hour, we were able to get in. The hotel manager was wonderful though, and gave us coupons for a free breakfast buffet. We were really impressed with our room, although we definitely could have used a refrigerator. We were really disappointed in our waitress at the poolside restaurant. She was HORRIBLE and definitely did not deserve the 20% gratuity that was automatically added to our bill. We were also surprised at the $10 charge that is automatically added each day for use of towels at the pool, etc. (By the way there is also a charge to workout at the hotel gym). Aside from all that it was a nice clean place to stay. more

Great Stay 7/22/2002

I was a bit apprehensive about staying at the Roney after reading reviews. However, I went for it anyway. I had a great stay. It's right on the beach! They are building a new pool so right now there is only one pool. It was not that deep but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I only had to wait for elevators during check in and check out The room was HUGE!! Two queen beds, 3 phones, a desk, cabinets, NO FRIDGE but hey. It is in walking distance to Lincoln Road. A mini grocery store was 3 doors down, an Eckerd was down the block. Great Location. I would go back.. more
