A few weeks ago I went to the Macaroni grill with my girlfriend. We were greeted as we walked in and did not stand there for more than 5 minutes on a Friday night. It was great considering most restaurants have a half hour wait or longer. We sat and the waitress came over and she was very pleasant. She took our drink order and food and was checking on us throughout the night to make sure we had a good experience (as we all know servers work on tips). Close to the end of my meal there happen to be a group of flies that decided to hang around my booth. It was no big deal because they were not bothering us. A few minutes later I am going to dip my fork into a heaping plate of lasagna and what makes it to the food before my? A fly. I was very aggravated because I was so hungry. The waitress came over and asked if I wanted to wrap it up and I explained to her how the fly had landed on my food. Then I showed her the flies and how they decided to join us that night. She immediately got a manager. The manager came over and apologized profusely. I was not mad at the waitress, manager, or even the restaurant. I asked him for my check and he told me the whole bill was set. I was not looking for a free meal but I think it was a nice gesture to offer my food on the house. I left $20 for the waitress as she was very nice and I am a big believer in tipping. Overall I would say that the situation turned out good by the way they handled it. I got to eat most of my food and they knew the flies were not on their payroll. If you are looking for a place with good food and service then I would highly recommend the Mac Grill!!! It seems they care about their customers!
